My fuel fuse for my 95 ford escort lx keeps blowing what could be causing this

The only time it blows is when you step on the gas and the car is moving and you're shifting from 1st to second. So if you left the car alone ...just start it and let it idle sitting still ...the fuse doesn't blow.

If that's the case then I would be looking at wiring. Like something is creating a dead short and blowing the fuse. Once the pump is running ...and that's typically when an electrical motor will draw its highest amp draw ...it stays running. My inclination is there is some kind of short and it happens when you move the clutch, the shifter or the throttle. Something is rubbing or coming in contact with the main power wire to the fuel pump. That's where I would start looking ....

I have a 1995 dodge ram 1500, I just replaced the fuel pump, and battery cable to the starter. Now here's my question every time I turn the key to the on position tying to start it it blows the 10amp mini...

for the fuse to blow there is either to high a power draw to that particular component , is it the fuel pump fuse ? or there is a short to earth , if it is the fuel pump fuse you may have pinched a wire during the repair, if the fuse isn't for the fuel pump check the component it is for

Where is ecm on 95 gmc jimmy

The ECM on the jimmy, is located on the passenger side fender well by the overflow tank. But before replace the ECM, inspect the fuel pump and fuel pump relay. The ECM sends power to the fuel pump relay and if the relay has gone bad will cause the fuse to blow which will kill the the power to the ECM, in turn kill the electrical power to the ignition system.

Start by removing the fuel pump relay and swap it with another relay and see if the fuse will blow again, if is does. Disconnect the fuel sending unit wire harness at the frame and see if the fuse blows again, if the fuse stays good. Chances are your fuel pump has gone bad or the fuel filter is dirty/clogged causing your fuel pump to draw more amp and will need to be replaced or the wire harness from the frame to the sending unit has a short which is common on older Jimmy's.

Here is a link to the electrical harness throughout the Jimmy.

My lumina starts but only stays running for a minute or so before it cuts off and 1 of the fuses keeps blowing under the hood the cover for the fuse box is missing so i dont know what fuse it is

I sounds like it may be your fuel pump fuse or relay blowing, if this happens to be the case, I would go to your local salvage yard and obtain a fuse box cover to see what fuse is blowing, if it is the fuel pump fuse you have a short in the wiring or the pump causing an overdraw of amperage blowing the fuse, you will have to find where the short is, it could be the pump itself or a bare wire going from the fuse box to the pump, if its an ignition fuse you could have a bad coil or igition module that has an internal short, i would first find a cover to see what fuse actually keeps blowing before you can start a better diagnosis of whats going on.....

Wireing a new fuel pump in a gq patrol , cant wire up fuel pump properly keeps on blowing fuses and fuel pump not working

If you keep blowing fuses you need to trace those wires back to the Engine area and find the short that is causing that. Start at the tank and work your way forward.

Blowing fuses jeep wont start

use a circuit breaker or paper clip with pliers so you do not burn yourself use paper clip as fuse unplug engine controll sensors 1 at a time and check if problem is gone after each one is unplugged an engine controll sensor is most likely shorting out if you have a map sensor try that first then move on to other components tps,fuel pump ect. till you find wich is fauly causeing short this should help you just be carefull with paperclip am saying to do this instead of blowing expensive fuses

2001 Jimmy shut down while driving. The ECM1 fuse blew. Replaced fuse and it blew. disconected circuits related to ECM1 fuse. reconected one circuit at a time. Fuse did not blow and Jimmy started. Why?

The first thing you should do is to locate the oil pressure switch/sending unit.

It's a single wire terminal with plastic connect sensor from the engine block.

This switch serves two functions.

1) provide oil pressure reading

2) disable the fuel pump relay in event of oil pressure loss.

===

When this switch is failing to provide the correct pressure to the ECU. The wiring harness can overheat and eventually create a short.

ECM1 fuse blow is because the harness is grounding/shorting.

===

DO NOT drive the truck until you change the oil pressure switch.

After you change the switch,you should spend sometime to inspect the wiring between the fuel pump relay,ECU and fuel pump.

Please post up day on the comment window/page.

I will follow up on it later.

Good luck.

ECM BATT fuse keeps blowing

That fuse provides power for the fuel pump. Either your fuel pump is blowing the fuse or there is a shorted wire.
