Check to see if there is a big rubber joint between the shaft that comes out of the rear of your trans and the rest of the propshaft, autos are prone for tearing these, if it is not that maybe bushes from trans too chassis

Car "bucking"

Are you pulling a trailer or have a heavy load - you should not drive in overdrive in those conditions. You will eventually ruin your transmission.

When you say going up a hill are you wide open throttle? Does the bucking occurs at 5300 RPM? If you are you have reached the fuel shut off limits before the transmission can shift,This happen if there is a high demand on the alternator, The solution for this is a redesign of the govenor pressure sensor on the transmission. But before you even decide this is a solution make sure the throttle valve cable is properly adjusted,(this is the downshift cable)

I have a 2006 Ford Expedition 5.4L engine and vehicle surges or shutters in overdrive only.

It can easily be the aftermarket equipment, you can call them. Since no trouble lights are on, just ask at Autozone or another good store and see what they show for a downshift solenoid and a converter lock-up solenoid and where they are located.

Another great source, keeping in mind that an Expedition is similar to an F150, are the Blogs. I believe a site like F150Owners.com or F150OwnersBlog.com have many owners using the same performance equipment you have. Some 4x4 sites are heavy into aftermarket modifications.

Also have your engine checked for "Camshaft Phasers" which can cause "bucking" under different engine loads. There was a Recall about these parts. In short, each engine head has a Camshaft. It is a variable timing camshaft. When 1 side does not match the other, there are problems.

I hope my solution is helpful.

how long has this been happing..one tank of fuel or more, could have been bad gas, replace filter,, put gas dryier in fuel tank..if it continues could possibly be transmission related..the reving down doesn't sound like transmission though if tansmission was slipping it would rev up..good luck

Transmission Bucks on hills

Replace plugs and wires at the same time and this will fix it. It is not a transmission problem. Common customer problem at a dealership I worked at. Carbon tracking on plugs and wires will cause this , so replace both at the same time to fix.
