Question about 1995 Ford Econoline

1 Answer

My rotors are shot. How do i replace them? Also had a bad antifreeze leak. Pulled over and found hole in hose. Addressed problem so i thought. Now when i shut it off it leaks pretty good. Did the cheap radiator quick fix and it slowed it down, but is still a problem. Cant exactly see where its coming from but , it looks like its coming from behind the serpatine belt pully, lower left. Was wondering maybe the hose was prelude to something i think, i dont know. Anyway any suggestions would be greatly appreciated towards this process of elimiation

Why would antifreeze leak on right side of the engine in a 2001 hyundai elantra?

There is nobody online that can tell you where your antifreeze is leaking from. If the hoses are not leaking, it could be anything from a leaking radiator, to a bad water pump, a breach in the head gasket, or a hole in a freeze plug. You simply need to LOOK to see where it is leaking from. That cannot be done over the internet.

94 pontiac sunbird le 2.0 4cyl leaking coolant

If you are able to lift the vehicle safely onto jack stands, you may be able to get under. With the coolant topped off, and using a flash light, you may be able to determine where the hose goes. Most likely the hose clamp rusted and broke off.
You can also pressure test the coolant system which will tell you where the coolant is leaking from

Lower radiator hose stays cold after running for hours

could be you fitted the thermostat in the wrong way around ,or the plastic impeller on the water pump with a steel drive shaft has failed they end up with the drive shaft spinning but the impeller is not turning ,go for the thermostat first though .

Antifreeze leaking underneath front of motor

You will need to locate your water pump. There is a small hole on the bottom of the water pump. If antifreeze is dripping out of this hole it is time to replace. You can also make sure all hose connections are tight.

I just replaced a hose after losing water. After replacing the hose I have put about 5 galloons of water into it after running and stopping to top it off. Last time I found water leaking from the side of...

usaully a hole near the shaft of a water pump is a weep hole and if water or antifreeze is coming out, your water pump seal is bad and pump needs replaced.

Bad water pump,Would be first guess. will leak antifreeze out. Hole in hose will cause same problem. Check oil for antifreeze if found blown head gasket.

The smell of antifreez coming in the car

Leaks are tough to pinpoint, as the cooling fan and road speed spread fluid all over the place. If u smell antifreeze in the car, the heater core may be bad (leaking). Do your windows fog up, and the defroster makes it worse? If so, the heater core needs to be replaced. As far as under the hood, get a small mirror at a parts store (they have an extending handle to get into tight spots), look under the water pump, at the center of the shaft. There is a small weep hole there, when the pump is shot, it will leak there, and u should be able to see evidence of it. Any other leaks (hoses or radiator) u can check by jacking up the car, put it on safety stands, block all wheels, go under the car w/ a rag (engine off) wipe up any drips, start car, watch for drips forming and dropping from hoses, etc.

Problem with my 2000 ford taurus water pump.

I just had that same problem with the antifreeze leaking and I thought it was my water pump but I pulled the antifreeze tank off and it was cracked all along the bottom and that was causing the antifreeze to leak out real bad so I went to a nearby junkyard and found a new tank and replaced the cracked one and now it works just fine with no leaks. I hope this works for you liked it worked for me.
