Question about 1997 Volvo 960

Open Question

Volvo 1999 s80.....low beams won't work, but my high beams do. I checked all the relays, bulbs, and fuses they are all fine. Tested the wiring it's fine. Also, when I first start my car it's almost as if the fuel intake is messed up or something I will push on the gas pedal just a little bit and it will jet forward and then be really inconsistent in speed until I get up to atleast 25mph. What should I do?

SOURCE: Fuel Relay

It is in the passenger compartment relay box under the left side of the dash. Along one edge there are 6 rectangular relays grouped 2 together and 4 together. The fuel pump relay is second over from the gap between the 2 groups of relays. My diagram marks it as CMI 12.

SOURCE: neither turn signal work on 1999 volvo s80, fuses are ok,

Remove the fuse that is labeled "SWM" in the fuse box, then re-install it. This should fix your problem. Have the software updated by a Volvo dealer to prevent this in the future.

SOURCE: My 2000 volvo S80 2.9 seem to go into a safe mode

your car is going in "limp" mode,
the computer is seeing a problem with a sensor on the transmission,so it won't up shift because it doesn't know how fast your going.
check the speed sensor, the input sensor, and the output sensor.one of these is not working correctly,
it will help when you have the car checked for codes, look for history codes section.
cycling the key resets the soft code but it will always return until repaired.

Possible bad relay or bad ground. Try tapping the relay with helper watching to see if light flashes.

I have92 volvo 960 right side low beam don't work but high beam work fine.no change with the new bulb either.

Fuses should be the same, could be a loose connecton for the high beam or a bad wire someone. Try doing a continuity test with a volt meter.

i think im right in saying the low beam bulbs are twin filament(low and high beam in one)and the main/high beam are single filament(spotlights).
