It may be bad, i would replace that and see if the light comes back on,its easy to change ive done a few, just drain the oil then remove bolts and remove, install new gasket with new one, theres a way to bypass to test, i belive if you just unplug it or jump the wires, you can try both ways first before replacing it,if it has more than two wires going to it then dont try jumping it, just replace it, good luck.

Flashing oil light audi a4 1997 on the dashboard

Your oil pressure is low. It could be your oil pump going bad or you could be just a bit low on oil. Be sure and top off the oil with a good synthetic oil, or, to be safe, get the oil changed (could also be sludge).

I have a 98 audi a4 1.8 t was told its has low and high pressure regulators and the low pressure isnt working right

Need to know what sort of pressure was being discussed, and what the symptoms are.
There is no low pressure regulator I know of in the fuel, oil, or anything else, except perhaps if it has turbo charging.
So unless you can be more specific, I don't think they were telling you correctly.

Oil pressure gauge reads low all the time, oil level is good and oil is clean. pressure warning light does not come on when engine running, appears to working normally. Engine running normally A4 1800...

Jim, you are going to have to look at the oil pressure sensor. It may be bad or it may just have a loose wire or bad wire. This sensor picks up the oil pressure and activates your light.

Yesterday, my Audi 2004 diesel turbo car showed a low oil sign. I topped the oil level to guage and the sign still remains. Today, another sign(O)emerges. The bracket sign breaks at intervals. What does...

the bracket sign is caused by the wear indicators on your brake pads.
when the protective covering wears off and the metal is exposed,it creates a ground and the light is triggered.
as far as oil level, have the oil pressure measured and if it is good, the oil pressure sender is faulty.

I have a 2000 olds alero, how do i reset the change moil light

If you mean the change oil soon light............ Open the fuse panel; on the side of the dash by drivers door. turn on key but not far enough to start car.
Press the red reset button in the fuse panel until the oil light flashes , release the button and then press it again.
It has been a while since I have done this on an alero , so if you have your owners manual , it might be a good idea to read the instructions in there incase i have it wrong. By the way , the low tire pressure light works the same way.

Oil light flashing

The most likely cause is a faulty oil pressure switch as there are up to 3 fitted get it checked ASAP could be low oil pressure!!
I take it this is the oil light flashing not "oil" in the dash insert ?
