Could be water pump does the electric fan cycle on off while the car is idling??? Could be the electric fan or the electric fan temp cycle sensor as well?
If everything checks ok, check for a head gasket problem?

Overheating at highway speed

old post got air pockets in it, burp it like we do all cars.
ask
see list of 17 signs here, (evidence)
http://www.fixkick.com/overheating.html

and all cures.
just for G16 engines
both 8v and 16valve versions.

i bet its cold out.right? February.
Cel lamp out running, if not, spark timingen may be way wrong.
when the read tubes clog then spark is wrong, the rad can overheats due to 2 failures at once. ? even 3.
or cap is no good, or thermostat bad.
you have tons of cold air there moving so the rad would have to be super clogged to fail
thermostats are weak technogly, see netfilx video of tour o that.
and he show why, they go bad 3 to 5 years old.
shorted lived part. so we always assume that it bad.
like car batteries, same deal ,weak tech.

or not burped right
proof?
easy
  1. pump in, all in.
  2. fill it with 50% AF ,right, to top of neck ,side tank 1/2 full.
  3. run (idle) engine until AF exits filler cap hole, kill engin, put on new cap.
  4. drive around block
  5. let cool below 130F or near.
  6. open cap.
  7. is it still full, sure its not, its got air pockets, all do.
  8. fill again, jump to 4.

g16 are not hard to fill
unless shade tree puts therm stat in, with bleed hole forward ,up hill. or upside down.

2000 chevy corvette changed water pump and therm bubbling through rad cap

there should be no air in the cooling system and the system can be bled by using a pressurising equipment . Ensure that the thermostat is placed in the motor the right way with the body facing the hot water (head or block). Air defeats the purpose of having a pressurised cap and system.

No heat in my 95 tahoe

1995 huh? Time to check where your heater hoses connect to the engine block. These are known to clog themselves with rust and corrosion preventing coolent to flow through your heater core. Does your heater hoses get hot? If not, your clogged mate!

Location of this mystery relay fan switch.

Look at the left (driverside) framerail near the radiator support. You can get to it from underneath, it has two small sheet metal screws holding it to the inner framerail. The framerail acts as a heatsink.

2004 Dodge 1500 4x4 with 4.7 V8 getting hot. Replaced therm, water pump and tested Radiator. Still gets hot very quick. The water is cycling thru block, but not coming back into overflow when getting hot....

Do you have anti freeze in it? did you replce the radiator cap? is the fan clutch good? is the AC condensor full of bugs and the radiator? are you low on transmisson fluid? or Motor oil? all these will cause it to get hot.
