Pull both halogen bulbs they are or probably been replaced with two different halogen bulb types... start fresh and buy a pair of mid range bulbs...dont let your fingers touch the glass on the bulb it lessens its life(extremely hot)

Ford Taurus X rear Brake lights won't turn off


There is a brake switch located at the upper portion of the pedal, these switches can come loose and fall towards the driver, when they do the brake lights will come on and remain on. The switch is activated when the pressure is released from the end of the plunger

I have a 2008 Ford Taurus. I shampooed the interior and now it won't start. The engine makes no sound when you turn the key and the battery was put on a charger. The lights and everything else wor


Its possible you got water in a wiring harness under the carpet or under one of the seats.
You would need to trace the wiring from the key to the starter to see what is not working. Could be the neutral safety switch on the trans but that would not have anything to do with wet carpets.

Yes,the newer cars need a strong battery or funny things happen. You'll need to replace your brake pedal switch or bleed the system properly. don-ohio (:^)

LED lights do not need relays as they run on 12 volts DC current and consume very little current-hence no relay-unless they are LED headlights.

You will have to check there is an output voltage from the switch ( suspect plug connector) . If you say the fuses are ok then you will have to try either a relay or fuse box connector . Good luck

You have a bad connector or wire. Use a multimeter to check the wire and connectors from both lights. My bet is on the wire.
