Question about Chevrolet Malibu Maxx
First thing you need to do is check for codes and then follow manufacture procedures to address it . If no code exist then a data scanner will be needed to look at all the data the sensors have. If no apparent problem can be found then fuel pressure will need to be checked and the battery terminals cleaned. Poor corroded battery terminals will cause low voltage to the fuel pump which will not allow it to prime correctly. Try this cycle the key a couple times before cranking. If it starts easier then this is most likley a fuel issue but being a 07 you may also be in need af spark plugs since i would assume your at around 50,000 to 90,000 miles.
This is all based on having a good battery to start with. Being a 07 the battery is about at the end of its life. You should have it tested also when engine is cold under the conditions that are present when this problem occurs. if you drive the car in and have it tested with the car hot the battery will have charged and will give false reading. An old battery will drain overnight and have minamal voltage for cold starts which could cause hard starting.
