Question about 2001 Kia Rio
Is this an interferance engine? that means that when the belt brakes the pistons and the valves will make contact and damage will be done. check with a dealer parts department they may tell you. Not all engines are. if so you will have bent valves and possible damage to the valve seats and maybe even a broken piston. follow up after you get some info and would like to help. good luck

yes..you will have a broke valve...so you are looking at a head job....if you wanna make sure..replace the timing belt and check for compression...if there are no or low compression than you need a head job...but if you have a good compression that you lucky...all you have to do is start it up...good luck
