Question about 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

1 Answer

It Won't Start

My car won't start. for the past couple weeks the power went out of it and it wouldn't start here and there but when one of the cables was adjusted more tightly on the battery it would start. but this has stopped working now my car won't start at all and the car alarm is going off when I attempt to start it. I don't have a button to dis alarm it because we disabled the car alarm awhile back so i don't use it anymore. Why would it randomly just start going off? If i get a new battery would it fix the problem?

Hello! I agree, I would replace the battery...The month and year of purchase should be marked on the battery or you may know how old it is...If it's over five to six years it is due...When you or someone installs the battery make sure terminal connectors are clean...If you have a coded radio make sure you have the code before you disconnect the battery...

Let me know if this solves the problem...Guru.........Saailer

Why my passenger side power window not roll down but locks work

That is like asking why your grass grows faster one week than the next

You use the window switch a lot --- so start there

Next, is the window regulator or cable broken -when
that happens the window usually falls down

The window motor may have fail in some way

I know you should check for a blown fuse but the other
windows work & if it did blow replacing it won't do a thing

If you have & know how to use a volt meter on any setting,
start by getting access to the switches

I doubt the locks are even on the same circuit

Personally I wouldn't even approach the vehicle
without a wiring diagram
Like going on a road trip,no map,why leave home
won't find anything or get to any place

Most people ask a question & go to a repair shop
or try thing the hard way because it costs nothing

Also gives no results

I was putting in a new car stereo and when I went to start my car it wouldn't start. I got a jump start from a friend and that did nothing as well. I did hear a little zap when I put in the stereo...

check it out with a multimeter ,but i think your jump leads may not be any good and you have just flattened the battery ,but check the big fuses in the power distribution box under the bonnet

I'd start with a battery first. Sounds like the battery has 1 or more dead cells in it. the battery may have all the volts you could want but if it doesn't have the proper amperage it won't crank the motor. You can have the battery load tested for free at Auto Zone or Advance Auto. A simple down and dirty test would be to disconnect the Positive cable and jump the vehicle by connecting directly to that and a good ground on the block. The motor should turn over as long as the vehicle you use as a jump has the proper amperage in it's battery. If the vehicle starts then it is the battery, if it doesn't then you need to look at the starter and other components.

Check your starter solenoid. Sometimes the wires loosen, or the solenoid just goes bad. Check to make sure all wires are firmly attached. Hope this helps.

For the past 2 weeks, when I try to start my 2003 Nissan Xterra, it seems sluggish, but the engine will turn over. On 2 separate occasions, when attempting to start the engine, it wouldn't turn over ...

Checked Cables how?

Looking & Touching isn't doing anything

You have to do a voltage drop test or remove
& clean the ends. I would do both

Remove the starter & have it tested at parts store,
assuming you don't know how to do a voltage or
current test while cranking.
