1: engine weak? (low rpms in all gears, and low power)
2: Trans slips (or flares) High rpm and low power (slip)

which is it?, the rpm in each gear answers that.
the FSM shows the range of rpm for each gear. ever seen a real FSM book? factory service manual.

sounds like bad mass air flow sensor or a gaping air(vacume) leak before the throttle plate. are you handy enough to locate this part and ill tell you an easy way to test?

IfI suggest ckg the maf sensor. It tells the ecu how much fuel is needed to keep the air fuel ratio proper.by measuring the amout of air passing into the intake duct from the air cleaner.. First ck the connector. the maf sensor is the first in the duct coming from the air cleaner... Good luck.

Having problems with gearbox on et turbo. Its hard to get into gear and seems to chug and its really jerky in first and second.

one unit that operates ratio changes and is connected to the engine is that vacuum operated actuator on the transmission
it is possible that that unit is failing , vacuum hose is leaking and that will cause ratio changes as the vacuum varies
run the fault codes to check for wiring problems or VSS or TCM problems as well
