Take the steering wheel off and steering colom apart. Then it has a torx bit screw under the rotar for airbag.. And its a bitsh. You will have to buy a steeringwheel puller Have you tried getting a new key made?

The malibu runs great still could it be the tumblers in the ignition switch have messed up

the tumblers in the ignition switch just allow you to turn the switch when the right key is used
they represent a combination that has to correspond to the cut of a key to allow the barrel to turn and so operate the switch
they have no connection to any thing except the barrel

Window wont roll down on 2000 volvo v70

First try, with the ignition switch off, dousing the switches with WD40 using paper towels to avoid a mess. While the switches are filled with WD40 work them back and forth to clean the contact areas. Turn on the ignition and try them, repeat if required.

Lost my keys, then I broke my ignition please help I need to hot wire there are 6 wires which

I hope you are only doing this temporarily. Generally speaking, ignition 1&2 would become powered when key is turned to on position. These could be wired to toggle switches. Highly recommend a high amperage momentary contact switch only for the starter lead. Best advice is the get a new ignition switch rather than mess with wiring. Doing so could do un repairable damage to your ignition system, wiring harness, and computer

Hey Anon, Is this a total electronic key,,(push button start)..if so, its an electrical issue. If its a standard key urn ignition. try some DRY graphite on the key.. it will lubricate the switch without the mess of liquids... put the key in and out several times, put some more dry graphite on the key and repeat.. give this some time to work,, if this does not improve the switch.. its time for a new switch assy,

The ignition wont turn in my 96 S10. it was working fine earlier. what can i do to fix this? I was getting ready to put a new fuel pump on it and wanted to try to start it to make sure it was a fuel...

Try to wiggle the wheel right to left, back and forth, while trying to turn the key. It might come unlocked soing so. If not, the ignition switch may be messed up.

No gas, no spark, 1991 chevy cavalier 2.2l 4cyl

This is an all too common problem with the Cavalier and other GM J-body cars. Usually it is because of the crankshaft position sensor or the harness going between it and the DIS (aka ignition module). Without the DIS seeing a signal from the crank sensor, it doesn't know when to trigger fuel and spark.

Sometimes this can also be caused by a faulty ignition switch. The switch will allow you to "crank" the car, but it doesn't make the proper connections for the ignition system, so the car never actually runs.

The previously indicated oil pressure switch could also be causing the problem, but if you hear your fuel pump run then it's OK.

Hopefully this helps. If not, your Cavalier is as messed up as mine and probably not worth fixing.

Won't start back getting fuel ,looks like the anti theft light stays on now and won't go out

If your car hase a security chip in the ignition key I think you will find a broken wire going to the key reader in the ignition switch, they are known to break with age because they flex with each key cycle.
