I would check for blown fuses first and why the cruise isnt working but disconnecting it may solve part of the issue no garantee.

Was on highway running 70 and all of a sudden the engine cut off and would not crank back up

This issue can be any one of 50 million items. Near the top of the list is your fuel pump. Have you heard any screaching from under the vehicle?
a quick test is have someone crank over the engine while you are under POUNDING on the lowest part of the fuel tank. Often this will shake the fuel pump into working, if it does, change the fuel pump real soon, or fail again.

How to drive with cruise

simply put,get to a roadspeed that is comfortable, then switch/set on,the cruise will keep you at that speed until you brake, then it will disconnect.only use cruise on the highway,NEVER in town for your own safety. any other functions like resume and accelerate should be left alone as you never use them.

Truck wont go in gear

sounds like the cluth is slipping. i had it happen when the rear main went out of my pickup. your pickup should still drive even if the transfer case took a dump. i had one blow apart on me at 75 on the highway and still managed to limp it home with half the case missing.

How do i use cruise control on focus

Hello,
First the vehicle has to be operating at least 35mph. There will be two sets of switches, one set is to the left and the other set is to the right of the horn on the steering wheel. The switches on the left will be labeled on/off, the ones on the right we be labeled Coast/Accel/Resume..

At a steady highway speed press the ON switch, (at the left hand side of the horn) This will activate and turn the speed control system ON...

Then you have to set and adjust your desired speed...

To SET YOUR DESIRED speed , press and hold the accel switch (Right side of Horn) until your desired speed has been reached and then release the switch.. Speed control will now be on, activated and set, you will be in cruise mode..

If you need to coast due to possible traffic, press and hold the coast switch as long as you need to.. This is like taking your foot off of the accelerator pedal.. When you let go of the coast switch you will return to you set cruising speed.

Stepping on the brake pedal at any time will deactivate the system.. If you step on the brake, and then want to return to your previous set cruising speed... All you have to do is press resume...

I hope this has helped you? You can find detailed speed control activation instructions in your 2005 Ford Focus Owners manual.. If you did not receive your owners manual when you bought the vehicle.. You can purchase one at your local Ford, Lincoln or Mercury dealership..

Cruise control will not engage

Hi, May be worth checking the switch at the brake pedal could just be that its sticking slightly, if you try the cruise control out again just flick foot under brake pedal and lift it up to make sure not holding any pressure on switch.
