Question about 2000 Volkswagen Cabrio

2 Answers

I have a 2000 VW Cabrio, and was told I have a faulty TP Sensor. I was also told that there is no way to replace the TPS alone and that I would need a whole new throttle body. Is this the only option I have? Ive been looking up parts and it looks like im going to end up paying at least $500 for a new throttle body...

How to test & specs' on the TPS

Keep the ignition switch to ON engine OFF. Hook the scanner, diagnostic computer or Techstream and take the reading. With the throttle pedal fully released it should read the TP sensor value between 9.8% to 18%.
It is better to keep the value as close as to 9.8%. To adjust the TP sensor, loosen the two torx screws, and adjust the sensor to the desired value.

Look for a junkyard around that sells the window or buy one online for dirt cheap and then put it in yourself. It is not that hard just time consuming.
