Yes a neutral saftey switch can cause a motor not to start. Depending on its location. Usually on a manual the switch is on the clutch pedal not the transmission. I hope you lock down the issue. Good luck.

How do you fit a new clutch to a mk3 golf 1.4

Hi there
I have done that a long time ago and some people said you can do it in the car by undo the bolts that hold the engine and gearbox together. Undo the mounting and do it by move them away from each other. I could not do it that way. I took the engine out, clean the whole engine and gearbox and install the new clutch and pressure plate. By doing it that way you know everything is right the first time. The whole job should take only 8 ours for one man. Make sure you put a label on each wire and pipe that you remove and put it back the exact same way. Make sure about the alignment of the clutch plate and the bearing and also make sure about every bolt and nut that you put back. If you are not familiar with how tight the bolts and nut should be get a torque wrens so then you can do professional job and be proud of yourself. Good luck.

I need to change a clutch on a 2000 Dodge neon 2.0. What is the easiest way to do it. I have done clutches on farm equipment but not a front wheel drive car so I only need a general process Thanks

You're going to need an engine hoist to hold the engine up and use a transmission jack to lower the transmission. This is hard to do, because the engine hoist's legs roll underneath the car, blocking access to dropping the transmission. It is easiest, to me, to just pull the engine and the transmission completely out of the car through the hood of the car as one unit. Separate the two while it's on the ground. Replace the clutch. Put the engine and transmission back together, and replace engine and transmission as one unit.
To pull everything out will take you one full day. Putting everything back usually takes two days. Note: take the radiator out as an un-headache precaution!

How to fix a 99 http://www.fixya.com/#Nissan clutch how to fix a water pump

what are you talking about the fan clutch? if so it unbolts from the fan and water pump and the clutch can be replaced. The pickups had problems with the ideler pully so replace it at the same time. if it's slipping not going into gear then yo need a clutch pack throw out bearing and ideler bearing you will need to have the flywheel surfaced as well. costs about $280.oo for everything and a days worth of work, it's light enought for one man to do the job.

Transmission installation

The only thing I can think for you to do is to purchase a Haynes manual. They're like 20 bucks or so.
Sorry to hear about your friend.
