Question about 1990 Audi V8 Quattro
My well maintained 1991 audi v8 quattro engine starts normally, but the rev's immediately fall off till the engine stops.
If I start the engine and provide throttle, holding it at some 2000 rev's for 5 seconds or so and then release the throttle the engine will fade to idle rev's and act normally till next time this occurs. This problem seems to hide for months - then appears for a varying length of time - and then goes into hiding again. Ambient temperature does not seem to be a factor. David
I would check the throttle butterfly for a carbon build up that may keep it from closing completely. have seen this cause stalling when returning to idle rpm. Best to try to remove and clean from both sides to get good results.this is just one of many possible problems. Hope it helps if so please let me know with a reply and good luck
