Go to mitchell1diy online and pay for the online manual which you will be able to access and print up all you need. There is no step by step procedure anyone will be able to tell you other than remove all the parts that are in the way in order to get to the head bolts. Then hope the head is not shot from electrolisis corrosion which is very commom on older engines. Your going to need all the torq specs and timing alignment specs for assembly so getting this info first hand will be in your best interest

Hi,
There are several signs that a BMW has a blown head gasket, such as if the temperature gauge shows the car is routinely running hot. If the low coolant light comes on, even after topping up the coolant, it's leaking somewhere. Another way to tell is by opening up the engine's oil cap and inspecting the oil. If the head gasket is blown, the oil will mix with the coolant and the oil will have a brown, milky appearance. If white smoke comes out of the tailpipe even after the car is warmed, there is a good chance there is a problem.
There are several things you can to help ensure your BMW motor does not suffer from a blown head gasket. It is recommended you change the water pump every 60,000 miles or so and replace the thermostat if there is any sign of the motor running hot. Though radiators are expensive, it's a good idea to replace them every 100,000 miles or so. It is also possible to upgrade to an aluminium radiator on most cars as well as a better engineered aftermarket water pump. It's also a good idea to periodically have the coolant flushed and replaced.
Before you get into all of that make sure you bled the cooling system properly. Check for heat coming from your heater, you may have air in the heater core. Also replace the expansion tank cap and check the expansion tank for any cracks or leaks also. Sometimes you get a defective water pump or the some of the plastic from packaging get left on the thermostat and causes it not to open properly.

Have you run the fault codes first as it may not be the fuel pump. Find out what is faulty before you spend good money on what is not faulty.

Try spraying carb. cleaner in throttle body while turning the key. If this works, most likely have a bad fuel pump. Good Luck

I have replaced radiator, hoses, water pump & thermostat on 1994 BMW 740i and the antifreex is still leaking, What do you think is the problem?

do you have smoke out the back esp from cold and still wen engine is warm?if no visable marks from core plugs or hoses then you may have a head gasget fault or it could be leaking out the heater matrix.check carpets for dampness or condensation.check to make sure all pipes and radiator are hot all over.water pump and thermostate not common faults on the 7 series.sounds like you might need to dig further.
