You must oohm out key and get resister to match the one mounted in key and then install inline to white wires that go up to key cylinder.

Do you want to bypass the Passkey system, if so follow the thread. This only works if your passkey security module is good. How To Permanently Disable GM PassLock System

Actually meant the security module on a 94 cutlass supreme, cheapest way to bypass

It depends on which anti-theft system yours has . VATS , PASSKEY 1,2etc... your vehicle is not new enough to have PASSKEY 3 . There are videos on you tube on how to by pass it . You need to find out what resistance yours has , go to radio shack or some other electronic store an by that size resistor . Then you need to find the right wires under the dash coming from the steering column ,if your ignition switch is in the column .Then solder the resistor to the two wires . Does you ignition key have the pellet on the side ? The two wires your looking for are white inside a yellow or orange sheath , plastic shield .

How to bypass theft system

Please go to this link to get instructions on bypassing the Passkey system. This only works if the VATS control module is working, this only bypasses the key signal.

I want to bypass the passkey module

The system you have is Passkey VATS. On your 91 there are 2 ways to bypass this system. One is a partial bypass that works in certain situations, and another that works in ALL situation. This link explains alot and offers solutions to help you beat this.

Passkey problems

its the small chip in the key, after the resister goes bad it cant carry the proper amount of resistance to the anti theft system. you can easily bypass this problem and get the resistance reading with an ohm meter. after you get the correct reading you can purchase some resisters from an electronics specialty shop. radio shack used to carry them but have stopped carrying such items. after you get them youll usually have to connect 2 of them together with soldier and connecting them to the 2 small yellow wires on the security system (NOT THE BIGGER AIRBAG WIRES AS THEY ARE ALSO YELLOW) Once you do this your car will start up no problems at all. I am a certified caddy tech and have done this on many caddys so, i do know what im talking about.

Need to know year, make, and model. If it's a Caddy, depending on the year, could be the VATS or PassKey system.

How do i bypass the passlock on a 2001 gmc yukon?

There is a definitive solution that I'm pretty sure can work for your case too. This was the only way I was able to save my 94 Park Avenue: http://newrockies.com/vatsbypass - My car had a Passkey system, but the only difference between PassLock (yours) and PassKey is that the former has a resistor in the lock, while the latest has it in the key. For the rest, they are the exact same system. I also heard several other people with a PassLock system using this method successfully.

1999 deville passkey bypassed with resistor of same value as the key , still no injector pulse, have heard the cluster may be bad , any ideas on how to check ?

The problem is exactly like the one I had with my Buick. The resistor only bypasses the key and lock cylinder, doesn't bypass the PassKey system like many say!
Here is a great write-up to build a full PassKey bypass that will bypass also the TDM. This is what saved my car! http://newrockies.ca/vatsbypass

1999 chevy s-10 wont stay start

There is a definitive solution that I'm pretty sure can work for your case too. When people tries bypassing these security systems, they always do it with a simple resistor. Wrong! That doesn't work anymore. Look at this site, it was the only way I was able to save my beloved 94 Park Avenue: http://newrockies.com/vatsbypass My car had a Passkey system, but the difference between PassLock (yours) and PassKey is that the former has a resistor in the lock, while the latest has it in the key. For the rest, they are the exact same system.
