You need supports at each joint.
You don't need supports between joints.
If you switch to a sytem with more joints, you need to add a support, and they are cheap to buy.
Just make sure that is you drill a new mounting hole, there is nothing behind it that would matter.

1988 buick Century backfires so hard it blows the muffler apart?

A backfire in the exhaust system is usually the result of a rich mixture ( too much fuel ) being supplied to the engine. It can also be a result of a timing/ignition problem. Does the vehicle run ok at idle? Is the check engine light on? If so, have the codes scanned for any problem areas that may be causing a rich mixture

Do you have to take the engine and the tranny out when replacing the transmission on a 1991 Buick Century 3.3

No, I'm pretty sure you don't, but to be sure, register for free at You can list your vehicle on there, and see the manufacturer approved R&R procedure for transmission removal. I think they get their source from Chilton manuals, it appears very similar to paper manuals. On those models, I think you can pull the transaxle out separately, and put a jack under the oil pan (block of wood between), to keep the engine from sagging down too far.

sounds to me like you either... (A)- have a blown headgasket... (B)-have a warped head.. have the exhaust fumes checked in your coolant overflow tank by a local mechanic

Door sags 1996 buick

If you have to lift up on the door and or close it hard--likely a bad hinge --each door has two and you can look into replacing the whole hinge or there are kits with the pin and bushings that can be used to repair a hinge.

Driver door would be most common if car that age and you may just need one of the two hinges replaced/repaired.

The car is running loud it sounds like a go cart or an old antique truck.

It could be a rust hole or breakage in your muffler, the exhaust could be broken. Most muffler shops will check this out for free. If it's a muffler, it may cost about $50 depending on the shop, but it should be an easy fix.

2002 Buick Century starts good idels good But no power on acceleration in drive sounds like an qudre jet carb when acceleration

sounds lik either a fuel filter plugged or the cat is plugged, check fuel pressure or just replace filter and if that isn't it have a muffler shop check the exhaust for excessive back pressure.

I have a 1983 buick century I was told it needed

the o2 sensor is usually on the exhaust manifold, or int pipes that lead to the catalytic convertor. It sniffs the summed exhaust gasses from the engine, so look for it in the plumbing AFTER the headers.manifold comes together into one pipe.
It is a threaded sensor about the size of a spark plug.
