Why are you trying to dis-connect the M.I.L. (Malfunction Indicator Light)? If it is to try and pass the emission test it will not work, because as soon as the emission test machine, or even a scanner is connected to your D.L.C. (Data Link Connector) it will read that the M.I.L. is on. Also the M.I.L. has to come on when the key is turned on, and go off when the engine is running, and that is a visual test that the emission tech. will fail.

Go to any of the chain auto parts stores and ask for a free scan so you can at least learn what is wrong. And it you are trying to cheat California, forget it; an analyzer doesn't care if your idiot light is on or not.

You mean turn it off. You can disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes,to see if the light goes out. If it comes back on, it is telling you that an Engine Failure has occured. PCM Failure. Like a sensor out of range etc. At that point, you need to retrieve any stored codes using a code reader or if MFG Specific Codes a Professional Scanner. My suggestion which will not go well with people on this site,is to just take it to a shop and get it repaired.
You will need the computer in a ready state,if you have State Inspection. So you can not disconnect Govt Mandated MFG Requirements.

Engine light code po441 on

This code indicates a purge flow problem in the evap emissions. It could be caused by a disconnected hose/disconnected purge valve/defective purge valve/computer or wiring issue. Has any work been performed under the hood? Air filter replaced? that may have led to a hose coming off? This vehicle is under warranty. Give the dealer a call and they will correct the problem for you

What is the name of the fuse that controls check engine light ?

Ok as far as I know when check engine lights were installed on cars and trucks' in the US and over seas. They were ran directly from the computer system and were only shut off by the dealership! After some $$$ and repairs! Once again if you plan on keeping this car! Go to your local parts store and purchase a manual! Not only will it teach you how to reset the check engine light, But I have found that there is no better way, To fix any problems that may accrue later on! WARNING some manuals can be hard to find your way around! So here is another way. Disconnect your battery's negative cable for 10 seconds or so, and this will reset the light due the fact that the light is directly wired into the harness and the PCM(power control module). You can also check the light by unplugging any sensor you can find if the light does not come on, there it is, you have answered your own question! All cars seem to be some what different ! And remember this is my opinion and I could be wrong! Good Luck

Hi, if I change my computer to my Nissan 300ZX 1986 I have to reset my computer or simply change it. Thank you for answer.

There is no re-setting. You just change it out. Be sure and disconnect battery before unplugging the ecu. It's a simple swap and go.
If yours is like my '87 Sentra, there is no trouble code capability, but there are limited diagnostic functions. The red and green LED lights and the diagnostic switch (on/off), can tell you if problems are present in the system or not. You just have to follow the diagnostic procedure.
Here's how: Make sure diagnostic switch on ecu is off. Run engine at 2000 rpm for 5 minutes, at no load. Look at green led: if it flashes at least 5 times in 10 seconds (that is the oxygen sensor making it flash), turn car off. Turn diagnostic switch on. Turn key to on, do not start engine. Check led's: if red is off and green on steady-No problems present in system.
If the red light is on and green light is flashing, post back and I can furnish the rest of the diagnostic procedure-basically, you will be checking voltages and resistance of all solenoids and relays the ecu controls. The green led may flash in two different sequences (either longer flashes and short pauses, or longer pauses and short flashes) when in diag. mode (with the red led on), and that will lead you down two different diagnostic routes. Pretty simple, really, and pretty effective. Took me hours and hours before I realized I even had this diagnostic function.

2001 VW GOLF. battery draining over night, a friend of mine who's a mecanic put a light tester to the battery and checked all the fuses no leak there, disconnected the glove compart light switch...

Hi there?
You need to test the battery itself. It could be faulty battery. Some batteries have a little LED bult in them, green led good battery, amber led battery needs charging, red led battery needs replacing.
You could allways disconnect the battery after the use of the car. if the battery still goes flat then you need to replace that battery.

maybe you pinched a wire, damaged a sensor, check the maf, idle air control, disconnect the battery for a while maybe it will reset the computer. doing this erases engine light codes, or check the codes first before, you should led you to the problem.

Climate control panel dead

Hi Badrick

Firstly, try disconnecting both your battery connections, and with the battery disconnected, turn the ignition switch fully, 3- 4 times ( To just discharge the computers ) Then reconnect the battery cables (pos + ) first.
This usually cures your problem.

Good Luck

DTC P0411/16795: SECONDARY AIR SYSTEM - INCORRECT FLOW DETECTED
Test Requirements
Ensure all fuses are okay, battery voltage is at least 11.5 volts, all electrical accessories are off, A/C is off.
Ensure engine is mechanically sound.
Test Procedure

NOTE
Secondary air system is activated by ECM and blows air into exhaust pipe
upstream of catalytic converter for 100 seconds during a cold start, 41-91°F (5-
33°C). Engine must be cold to perform following test procedure.

1. Ensure fuse and secondary fuse (secondary fuse is 40 amp and is located in fuse holder on top of battery)
are okay. Check hoses and components of Secondary Air Injection System, for damage, loose fit and
improper installation, check vacuum hoses for Secondary Air Injection System. Repair as necessary.
Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. If DTC does not reset, test is complete. Perform ECM relearn
procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
2. Remove engine cover. Disconnect pressure hose from Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101), by pressing
buttons on hose connector. See Fig. 33 . Using scan tool, check Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) in
scan tool Output Diagnostic Test Mode (Secondary Air Pump Relay activation mode). See OUTPUT
DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE .
3. Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) should run in intervals and air should exit pump at hose connection.
If Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) is okay, go to step 7 . If motor runs and no air exits secondary air
pump motor, replace faulty Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101). Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test
is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE . If
secondary air pump motor does not run, go to next step.
4. Disconnect Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector, install LED test light at secondary air
pump harness connector terminals. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, activate Secondary Air Pump Motor
(V101) in scan tool Output Diagnostic Test Mode (Secondary Air Pump Relay activation mode). See
OUTPUT DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE . LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness
connector should flash. If LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector does
not flash, go to next step. If LED test light at Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) harness connector
flashes, replace faulty Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101). Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test is
complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure. See TEST DRIVE RELEARN PROCEDURE .
5. Using DVOM check resistance of Secondary Air Pump Motor (V101) wiring. See appropriate WIRING
DIAGRAM under ENGINE PERFORMANCE in SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS. Resistance should
be a maximum of 1.5 ohms for each reading. Check wiring for short circuit to one another in Secondary
Air Pump Motor (N101) harness connector. Repair as necessary. Erase DTC memory. Verify repair. Test
is complete. Perform ECM relearn procedure.
Secondary Air Pump Motor (N101) wiring is okay, go to next step.
6. Check Secondary Air Pump Relay (J299) and Secondary Air Pump Relay (J299) wiring. See DTC
P0418/16802: SECONDARY AIR PUMP RELAY (J299), MALFUNCTION . Repair or replace as
