What is ecm-643 camshaft position, inlet -signal too high? Tech' says i need to realign timing belt. It will fix that problem if i realign the belt?

It could be the cam sensor try that first before spending money on that in a shop

Your vehicle has no fuel pump relay . Has a fuel pump flow control module .
Fuel Pump Flow Control Module (FPCM)
The fuel pump flow control module (FPCM) is a serviceable GMLAN module. The FPCM receives the desired fuel pressure message from the engine control module (ECM) and controls the fuel pump located within the fuel tank to achieve the desired fuel pressure. The FPCM sends a PWM signal to the fuel pump, and pump speed is changed by varying the duty cycle of this signal.
Plus it has two fuel pumps !
The high pressure fuel pump (9) is a mechanical one cylinder design driven by an eccentric on the exhaust camshaft (1) of bank 2. High pressure fuel is regulated by the fuel rail pressure (FRP) regulator, which is a part of the high pressure fuel pump. The FRP regulator is a magnetic actuator which controls the inlet valve of the high pressure pump. The ECM provides battery voltage on the actuator high circuit and ground on the actuator low reference circuit. Both circuits are controlled by the ECM. When the ECM deactivates the FRP regulator, both circuits are disabled and the inlet valve is held open with spring pressure. When the ECM activates the FRP regulator, the low circuit driver connects the low reference circuit to ground and the high circuit driver pulse-width modulates (PWM) the high circuit. The ECM uses the camshaft and crankshaft position sensor inputs to synchronize the FRP regulator with the position of the eccentric on the camshaft. The ECM regulates fuel pressure by adjusting the portion of each pump stroke that provides fuel to the rail. The high pressure fuel pump also contains an integrated pressure relief valve.
Your best bet is have it towed to the dealer , you don't want to mess with the high pressure pump .

Got code P0026, replaced oil control valve and the solenoid next to it. still the code came back

Since the actuators work on oil pressure, the proper amount of oil is critical to ensure proper operation of the VVT system. Dirty or contaminated fluid may cause buildup which can lead to failure of the control solenoid or the camshaft actuator. Control solenoid - The control solenoid for the camshaft can be checked for continuity using a Digital volt/ohm meter (DVOM) using the ohms function, by unplugging the solenoid wiring harness connector and checking the resistance of the solenoid with the (+) and (-) leads of the DVOM on each terminal. Ensure the internal resistance is within manufacturers specifications if available. If resistance is within specifications, remove the control solenoid to verify it is not contaminated, or if there is damage to the sealing O rings to cause a loss of oil pressure. Camshaft actuator - The camshaft actuator is a mechanical device controlled by internal spring pressure and adjusted by oil supplied by the control solenoid. When no oil pressure is supplied, it will default to a "safe" position. Refer to the manufacturers suggested procedure to remove the camshaft actuator from the engine's camshaft to ensure no leaks are present that would cause a loss of oil pressure to and from the actuator's hydraulic supply/return feed lines or within the actuator itself. Check timing chain/belt and components to ensure they are in proper working order and installed in the correct position on the camshaft gear. ECM/PCM - The ECM/PCM commands the control solenoid using a Pulse width modulated signal (PWM) to regulate the amount of on/off time, resulting in a control of the pressure used to move the camshaft actuator. A graphing multimeter or oscilloscope tool is required to view the PWM signal to ensure proper operation of the ECM/PCM. To check the PWM signal, the positive (+) lead is tapped into the ground side of the control solenoid ( if supplied by constant voltage, ground controlled ) or the powered side of the control solenoid (if permanently grounded, positive control ) and the negative (-) lead is attached to a good known ground. If the PWM signal is not consistent with changes in engine RPM, there may be a problem with the ECM/PCM

If the engine oil is clean and the VVT and OCV circuits are OK, replaced the VVT to resolve the problem.





When is the code detected?


After the ECM sends the target duty cycle signal to the OCV, the ECM monitors the OCV current to establish an actual duty cycle. The ECM determines the existence of a malfunction and sets the DTC when the actual duty cycle ratio varies from the target duty cycle ratio.

On this code the cam or crank sensor is normally the culprit. I would replace the crankshaft position sensor. There is anothe possible sensor that can cause this to happen vehicle speed sensor and engine coolant temp sensor. The way it works is The ECM receives signals such as crankshaft position, camshaft position, engine speed, and engine coolant temperature. Then, the ECM sends ON/OFF pulse duty signals to the intake valve timing control solenoid valve depending on driving status. This makes it possible to control the shut/open timing of the intake valve to increase engine torque in low/mid speed range and output in high-speed range. But the most common problem is the cam or crank sensor Start with the crankshaft sensor and then camshaft sensor.

I have a p0008 code & I'm worried

The ECM detects that both camshafts on either bank of the engine are mis-aligned with the crankshaft for more than 4 seconds or a cumulative of 50 seconds.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the position of both camshafts and the crankshaft. The ECM performs a test for misalignment between both camshafts on one bank of the engine and the crankshaft. During the test the ECM learns the position of the camshafts and the crankshaft. While the engine is idling, the ECM compares the position of both the camshafts and the crankshaft with the learned value. The ECM will set the P0008 code if both learned values for one bank of the engine are exceeding a calibrated threshold in the same direction.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

Possible causes
- Engine mechanical problems
- Incorrect timing chain
- Stretched timing chain
- Failed camshaft actuator or actuator solenoid

Tech notes
There is a factory service bulletin for the following Cadillac models:

2004-2008 Cadillac CTS SRX
2005-2008 Cadillac STS

The service bulletin suggest replacing the primary drive and both secondary drive timing chains. Contact your Cadillac dealer for more information. The repair could still be cover under factory warranty.

When there is a gap between angle of target and phase-control angle degree, the valve will stop working and the ECM will trigger the P0011 code.

P0011 NISSAN - Intake Valve Timing Control Performance Bank 1
This mechanism hydraulically controls cam phases continuously with the fixed operating angle of the intake valve.

The ECM receives signals such as crankshaft position, camshaft position, engine speed, and engine coolant temperature. Then, the ECM sends ON/OFF pulse duty signals to the intake valve timing control solenoid valve depending on driving status. This makes it possible to control the shut/open timing of the intake valve to increase engine torque in low/mid speed range and output in high-speed range.

The intake valve timing control solenoid valve changes the oil amount and direction of flow through intake valve timing control unit or stops oil flow. The longer pulse width advances valve angle. The shorter pulse width retards valve angle. When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control position.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible engine lack/loss of power
- Posssible engine rough idle

Possible causes
- Harness or connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve may be faulty
- Crankshaft position sensor (POS) may be faulty
- Camshaft position sensor

Tech notes
Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.

The Camshaft Position Sensor is an electronic device used in an engine to record the rate at which the camshaft is spinning. This information is used by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module(ECM) to control ignition and fuel injection. The camshaft position sensor senses the retraction of camshaft (intake) to identify a particular cylinder. The camshaft position sensor senses the piston position. The sensor system consists of a rotating part, typically a disc, as well as a static part, the actual sensor.

When the engine is running, the high and low parts of the teeth cause the gap with the sensor to change. The changing gap causes the magnetic field near the sensor to change. The change in the magnetic field cause the voltage from the sensor to change.

When the crankshaft position sensor (POS) system becomes inoperative, the camshaft position sensor provides various controls of engine parts instead, utilizing timing of cylinder identification signals.
