. . . what is the name of the part down inside the 'upper manifold cover' that has sensors and the fuel pressure regulator is attached to, and it distributes fuel to each cylinder?

Its a 4.3 vortec v6 engine right? Here it is, I may not a have a drawing but here's the firing order. The distributor has 4 wires located on the passenger side and has 3 wires located on the driver's. From front to back of the driver's side should be 3-1-5 and the passenger's should be 2-4-6. The coil wire should be at the back near the firewall. Hope this helps.

Daewoo tacuma Just changed my spark plugs and HT leads now enging runs rough and stalls on idle

CHECK YOU FIRING ORDER, YOU MIXED THE IGNITION WIRES, IF IT IS A 4 CYL, FIRST CYLINDER #1 IS NEAR THE BELTS, CHECK COIL WIRES FOR NUMBERS, OR DISTRIBUTOR CAP FOR CYLINDER NUMBER OR COIL PACK FOR CYL #, AND FOLLOW THE WIRES TO THE SPARK PLUGS. MAKE SURE THEY ARE RIGHT, NEXT TIME DO ONE PLUG AND ONE WIRE AT THE TIME.

Where does the number 1 plug wire go on the dist cap for a 87 chevy van with an hei system

Insert the number eight spark plug wire next and route it to the corresponding cylinder. For this example we use a Chevy small block firing order, which is: 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7 and 2, rotating clockwise. The wires must connect to the corresponding cylinder numbers which are: left bank cylinders (viewing from the driver's seat) 1, 3, 5 and 7; right bank 2, 4, 6 and 8. Low numbers begin in the front of the engine.

Changed plugs wires cap rotor when I changed wires did one at a time so I would not mix up on they go onto rotor know van runs like s%#! checked to see if one wire was not on all the way but they all seem...

I do this for a living and have for 25+ years. To this day when I do it I have know idea how I messed them up but i do it some times. Even when I think i am doing them one at a time. Double check your firing order (see picture below). If that's not it check the Distributer cap & rotor for any cracks or flaws. Then check the plugs for being wrong or faulty such as cracks as well. that's all I can think about at this point for you unless you knocked a vacuum line off somehow and that's possible too. I hope this helps and good luck.

I mixed the distributor cables up,so i need the order to correctly connect

If the wires are still in the distributer, AND, if you have a stock intake manifold, the firing order is on the manifold. If it's a V-8, the number 1, 3, 5, & 7 plugs are on the drivers side of the engine. The number 2, 4, 6, & 8 plugs are on the passenger side. The number 1 plug wire can be located by looking at the distributer from the front of the engine and visually looking between the distributer and the number 1 plug. Visualize the distributer as a clock. The number one position should be located between 4 and 5 o'clock and should have the longest wire of those on that side of the distributer.

If the wires have been pulled from the distributer, then, then, remove the rotor cap, turn the engine over slowly until the rotor is pointing to the number 1 plug. Using the firing order on the intake manifold, starting with number 1, replace the wires going clockwise around the distributer.

I own a 2002 mustang with v 6 eng.service eng light came on. pep boys retreived fault code that reads p0304.eng has new plugs and wires

P0304: Cylinder Misfire Detected (#4)

-Last number corresponds to which cylinder is misfiring.

Could be a faulty spark plug or wire. Try changing the spark plug from the 4 Cylinder to another and see what happens; If the different cylinder misfires, then it is the spark plug. If not, it could be the wires on cylinder 4.

99 chevy 1500 5.7 missing on 3 4 6 replaced tp, map, wires cap rotor fuel filter spark plugs injectors cam and crank sensor

Not much else it could be you have renewed just about everything. How about the coil sets? How healthy do the sparks look? try swapping some the faulty cylinder coils around with those that are good and noting the shift in misfires. The coils get hot and suffer over time. I think if you examine the sparks from each plug in turn you will see big differences from good to poor. For safety disconnect the fuel pump relay when checking the spark we don't want any fires.

Chevy 95 g20 van 8 cylinder wiring order spark plugs

1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 The #1 spark plug is the front spark plug on the drivers side and the cylinder location in order from front to back on the drivers side is 1-3-5-7 and on the passenger side it is 2-4-6-8. The ignition rotor rotation is clockwise.

If your Distributor cap is not numbered then replace the new wires, or transfer the old ones to the new distributor cap one wire at a time. Identify the #1 spark plug wire and start from there.

I have a 98 6cyl, you are lucky u will be changing plugs in a 4 cyl, the 6cyl. took me several hours just for plugs and wires--3 plugs are back way under the windshield, and very difficult to access. Here's what u should do: New spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap (if equipped, mine doesn't have one, not sure if yours does), air filter, fuel filter, change oil and filter (if u don't know when previous owner changed it, then every 3k miles or every 6 months, whichever comes 1st). Also a good idea to flush out the cooling system and fill up w/ 50-50 coolant water mix. Check out your wiper blades, if they smear the rain off replace them now. Also check the belt(s), if cracked or frayed , replace them now so u won't get stuck later. And finally, the most neglected item, and a weak point of Chrysler vans, the transmission. Drop the pan, drain the fluid, replace the filter, check and clean magnet on bottom of trans. pan, it will have fine metal shavings from normal wear and tear. If u find pieces of metal, that's bad, u r headed for tranny trouble, U also should check the brakes, to see how much the pads/shoes are worn, to give u an idea how long til u need to think about brakes. If one side is wearing quicker than the other, something is up, do the brakes (always do both front or both back, never just one wheel). Whew, that's a lot, but you'll know what kind of shape your van is in, and can drive it w/ confidence.
