Question about 2004 Dodge Ram 1500
The A/C on my 2004 Dodge 1/2 ton pu (with the 5.7 liter hemi) blows hot air when pulling a trailer over 70 miles an hour, going uphill (even some overpasses), driving 80 mph (I live in Texas) or sitting at idle for too long. I have had a mechanic look at it and he checked the freon and charged me $40.00. It works fine around town, but will not cool under any type of load.
You will need to change the clutch fan, under load or high speed will heat up the engine and the clutch fan should ingage to pull more are through the radiator. Also at idle with no air moving through that radiator the clutch should ingage to pull air through.
