Question about 1998 Jeep Cherokee 4WD

Where do I find a fuse diagram for a 1998 Jeep Cherokee (4.0)

Where do I find a free fuse diagram for a 1998 Jeep Cherokee? My rear left turn signal doesn't work. The lamp works though and there's no corrosion in the socket. Also, the relay is ticking at twice the pace than normal, which I presume means it is working too, right?

Next step should be checking the fuses but I don't have the instructions booklet.

I don't know if this is the proper channel to communicate with one specific solver, but I couldn't find another way..

Hi starrface, you just tried to solve the problem with my Cherokee (the one with the not working rear left turn signal).

The thing is that there seems to be some kind of glitch or bad connection because when I just drove it the left signals were working almost every time I used them. AND the hazard lights are working fine.

The next step is to check fo voltage going to the signal socket and check the ground, the flasher clicking faster means you got a light not working

seems like yoy are at the root of the problem, bad connection or ground, so often its the ground, you are on the right track, no magic here

I have replaced....several times.... the 15amp fuse for my turn signal and overhead console read out and they continue to blow. All other lights continue to work, even the flashers, head lamps, and break...

When a fuse blows you have 2 choices

Replace it once or just go to the wiring
diagrams & start diagnosing & testing,
until you find the cause of the electrical
system problem causing the high current

You need to know what is on that fused circuit

Unplug the overhead console. If the problem
goes away, you know the console needs to
be checked out. Or you work on the signal
problem WITH WIRING DIAGRAMS

You wouldn't go on a road trip without
a map,if you never been there before !!

If it happened the way you described it. I don't see how it could possibly have damaged anything. I guess what you are saying is that the left tail lights are not working? ("4 way exterior dim lights"???) Touching the tail light wire to the turn signal wire will only cause your turn signals to light up. (I am assuming that the tail light switch was on at the time)
I think it is more likely that the brown wire touched ground. This would make a bright flash, blow a fuse and cause the symptom you are describing...I think you need to check the fuse again.
There are separate fuses for the left and right sides. The left side tail lamp fuse is fuse #7 in the junction block it is a 10 Amp fuse. The junction block is located on the right cowl side inner panel - We are NOT talking about the Power Distribution Center under the hood.

All of the above is also assuming that we are talking about a plain Cherokee, Cherokee SE, Cherokee classic or Cherokee Limited.

If we are talking about any of the Grand Cherokees, you may have a fried lamp outage module.

The turn signal will not work right or left

try looking at fuse #8 (20Amp yellow fuse) and see if it is bad. that could be your problem, and make sure the fuse #4 is good as well. (15amp light blue fuse)

1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport Fuse Needed?

Sometimes there are relays under the hood. There is usually a diagram posted underneath the door when you tak it off. The turn signal is usually just a fuse, which may be in your glove box(has a diagram under the door), under the driver or passenger side dash. Do you still have the manual for the vehicle?
