1999 SL2 has no heat. Possible causes?
When the car is warmed up, feel the hoses going to the heater core. If one is warm and the other cold you have a blocked core. If they are both warm, you may have deposits built up in the core preventing heat transfer between the coolant and the core. What i have done with some success is run a garden hose into one end of the core, rinse for a while then run hose into the other end, this may blast the core open or could burst it. Leave some slop around the garden hose, do not fix it firmly or clamped onto the heater core opening. Please note that when you run water into one end of the core, water is going to come running out the other end so be prepared for splashing water. You may end up buying and installing a new core, do not get a used one.
