Question about 2001 Hyundai Accent

1 Answer

My car is vibrating alot when I am driving it. I have just had it serviced. There was a problem with the amount of oil in the engine. it was accidentally overfilled. The mechanic drained the oil and gave the car a standard service. When I drove the car home I noticed it was vibrating. I am not sure if this is because of tyre pressure or something else.

Take the vehicle right back - get with the manager - take someone else with and a camcorder - a small one will do and a digital trap recorder is the least- ask them what they intend to do to repair your car as over filling a car can ruin it. You should consider taking it to another place with the same name too - if it is like say - Bobs Jiffy Lube and it is a franchise - they have standards. Best to get the one manager on record as to admitting to over filling it.

the smoke came from the spilled oil leaking onto a hot surface ( manifold) No problem there. The oil light coming on was probably from the oil surging away from the oil pickup in the sump momentarily allowed the oil pump to suck air hence a drop in oil pressure. To have all that happen, the hit on the curd was substantial. so I thinking bent axle flange and broken engine mounts could explain vibrations and engine shaking

After driving my car 2006 chevy impala for about 20 miles the dashboard warning light oil pressure low stop engine and the oil warning light appears, but if step on break or slow down it goes out..wha

Verify that the engine has the proper amount of oil. The inertia from accelerating may be moving the oil in the oil pan away from the sensor and causing it to send a signal, then when you slow the oil levels out and the sensor go's off. I've had this happen alot with a taurus that I owned. The simple solution was to top off the oil to the correct level and the sensor did not come on again (until it ran low again, had a leaky oil plug on oil pan).

Trouble with modern day synthetic oil is that it evapourates very quickly, check to see what subaru say in the driver handbook about it, they should give you guidelines on how much oil the car should be using. Wouldn't think this was causing your vibration fault. Check gearbox and engine mounts, they may look ok but the rubber on them may be weak. Also check your anti-roll bar bushes.Good Luck.

Wondering why i pull off at a light and its ALOT of vibration, when it's in neutral it doesn't vibrate. But when it's in drive it vibrates. What is the problem?

Good Evening, I can certainly understand your problem. I have seen this a number of times. The first thing to have checked out is your motor mounts (as long as your engine is running smooth I would not say a misfire) the mounts get a good amount of wear and tear and what happens in drive it relies on those mounts to help cushion the movement of the engine. I hope this of some help.

I waited too long to get my oil changed, and while at a red light, my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am started to vibrate back and forth and continued until I parked. When I tried to start the car eight hours later,...

Was your Pontiac real low on oil, or it just had been a long time since it was changed? I don't think putting off the oil change was the problem, unless you had little or no oil in the engine. Bring it to a parts store to see why the check engine light is on. They can plug a hand held scan tool to the cars diagnostic port under the dash, and 'pull' codes from the cars computer to see why it's running bad. This is a free service at most stores. They can give you advice on what's wrong, and what to do to fix it. Write down the codes, and post them here if you have any further questions. Get this checked asap. Good luck, and let me know what you find.
