Question about 1990 Audi 100

1 Answer

I have received 5 diffrent answers for this problem.Thought I would give it one more time. The windsheild wipers stop in middle of windsheild when I turn them off.Tried adjusting wipers did the same thing.I think it's either the wiper motor or the switch.I don't think you can return switch once you use it.No return money on electronics. One expert said there is a plastic park gear in motor thats broke. One said if it was the motor it would not work at all.One said there's a timing switch in the wiper wand.I'm going to try your suggestion.

Thank you I kinda was leaning that way to.Just thought I would make sure.I will have to order the part. And somtimes they get kinda stinky when you try to return it.Really hard with electronics.I'm doing the work for a freind.Just didn't want to look to stupid. This was a hard call because the motor still works.Till you shut the switch off.But all the functions worked fine in the wiper wand.I replaced one of those multi wipers in my jeep hoping I didn't have to replace the flasher for the blinker.Didn't work. And they wouldn't take it back.Had to tear half the dash apart. To replace a $20.00 dollar flasher.Again Thanks

Windsheild wiper won't turn off

The electrical mechanism has a rotating arm with a wiper contact, whose objective is to prevent the wipers stopping in the middle of their travel, thus this small wiper contact continues to supply current to the wiper's motor until they reach the end position. From time to time, the wiper (or the electrical track support) rotates out of proper alignment, and just keeps the winshield wipers running. you need to disassemble the motor of the wipers, inside there is a small arm with a contact point, it need to be realigned. It is not difficult, but some dexterity is needed to be able to properly reassemble the motor.

Windsheild wipers delay wont work properly. turn them on and the wiper just keep going at normal speed with no delay. turn them off and the keep running then stop in the middle of windshield.

The wiper module is probably bad.It is located on the wiper motor many times you can wiggle the wires going to the module and some function is restored temporarily but most likely the module willneed replaced.

I have a 1999 Saab 9-5. The fan blower doesn't

The fan is located under the windsheild wipers. The windsheild wipers will have to be removed. Then remove the plastic shroud and wiper motor and assembly. The fan is located in the middle under the windsheild. If your feeling the AC you can check the stepping units located on the AC unit behind the front console under the dash.....KEH
