Why GM 5.7L TBI Truck shows code 44 lean exhaust. Engine light comes on after about 8 miles. Fast Idle after warms up only.

Still sounds like an air or vacuum leak with that high idle...did you check the brake booster, or plug off that line?

Can you observe the cone pattern of the injector spray? Is it a fine mist and a clear cone pattern? No problem with drips or clogs?

One way to check for intake gasket leak into the valley: close off ALL vacuum lines, every one from the intake manifold. Then run the engine and take off the oil filler cap. There should be a slight pressure, but if there is a vacuum at the filler cap, there is an intake gasket leak into the valley. I haven't tried this, but I read it on a buick forum once, so let me know if it works or not.

2002 Dodge neon Problems with the head leaking?

It leaks what... coolant or exhaust gas?
If it's exhaust gases it's more likely to be the exhaust manifold gasket at fault.

If it's coolant leaking out somewhere it could be a hose/radiator/coolant tank, though coolant can also leak from the head gasket area.

A classic sign of a leaking head gasket is a creamy white/grey sludge on your oil dipstick. This is caused by coolant finding its way via a blown head gasket into the oil system

2002-dodge-neon-problems-head-leaking-drn4r4jcf5cpqfgonvky3zim-5-0.jpeg A creamy sludge on the dipstick - caused by coolant finding its way into the oil system because of a leaking head gasket.

Other indications of a leaking head gasket/head is overheating and rough running.

You can also try removing the cap from the coolant bottle and letting the engine idle. If bubbles continually appear this may be due to the exhaust gases finding their way into the cooling system via a leaking head gasket.

In most cases replacing a head gasket requires the cylinder head to be skimmed as well. This is because the alloy of the head tends to warp slightly.

A workshop would be able to diagnose a faulty head gasket within minutes. Having a head gasket replaced and the head skimmed isn't a cheap job.

Nowadays there are 'guaranteed head repair' additives available. Just follow the instructions on the can if you decide to use one. I personally haven't used such an additive.

My Alero is overheating, and pushing the coolant out the surg tank, my brother said water pump, changed. then said thermostat, changed. then said radiator clogged, flushed. still doing the same thing?

Do fans come on , if not it is the $8 dollar temp sensor or the fan fuse or the fan motor.
If you have heat from the heater and if radiator gets hot then it is neither the raditor or the water pump nor the thermostat as neither heater or radiator would get hot
because no water would be moving in the system.
So

Working on a 1997 grand caravan 3.8L replaced the water pump replaced electric fans new thermostat did rad flush and and made sure there was no air pockets still over heats

White steam/smoke coming out exhaust, oil in radiator, coolant in oil, smell of exhaust coming out the radiator, spark plugs wet with coolant, a coolant pressure test would confirm bad head gasket.

I think my car blew its head gasket, but theirs no water in oil,if idling temperature stay normal, fans do come on when idling for long.I`ve changed spark plugs, plug wires, thermostat and heat sensor unit.As...

white smoke from the exhaust and overheating would almost certainly mean a blown head gasket.
the head gasket has gone between a cylinder and a cooling channel so exhaust gasses can get in to the cooling system resulting in the boiling and water from the cooling system is getting into the cylinder resulting in the white smoke (actually steam) from the exhaust.
the exhaust manifold is a separate issue that can be replaced when the head gasket is repaired.

2003 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi replaced piston and head now have tapping noise from front of engine. sounded like exhuast leak replaced gasket. not loud at idle but when start driven gets loud.

Could be a bad gasket tightness if you replaced the gasket. The exhaust manifold could be not torqued down evenly causing a gap to exist allowing exhaust gas vapor and sound to escape at the cylinder head connection.

White smoke is a sign of coolant being burned in the exhaust.

Head gasket is cracked

there is no connection betwen the doughnut gasket on the outlet of the exhaust manifold and the head gasket. The head gasket is under the cylinder head and does not crack. It may blow due to compression pressure leaking between the head and the block.
Are you sure you don't have a brkoen stud on the exhaust manifold where it mounts to the blcok? Known Nissan isue. The bolts don't stretch when hot and eentaully they all break off. Newer studs do stretch.
