Question about 1997 Ford Explorer AWD
Can put fuel in throtle body with squirt bottle and it will run for a while
You most likely have a fuel pump issue. If you know where the schrader valve is you can take the cap of it with the key on and see if you have fuel pressure by pressing in the valve( it is a valve stem like is on a tire that is on the fuel rail). Try turning the key on for 3 seconds without cranking, do it again andthen try to start it. The first 3 second is the high pressure side of the fuel pump. Next thing to try is to get a hammer and smack on the fuel tank as you have someone try to start it. That trick is the same thing as tapping on a starter. I don't know when you fill your tank but the thing that "takes out" most fuel pump is letting you tank get low on fuel before you refill. The pump is cooled by the fuel in the tank and when the fuel gets to low it doesn't have the fuel to cool it and heats up and looses it's duty cycle.
Good luck hope something there helps
