Question about 2006 Volkswagen New Beetle

1 Answer

Why does my drivers side headlight keep burning out? I know how to replace the bulb, I just can't keep it working. It will come on when I first replace the bulb but is out again after a short amount of time. I've even put one of the older bulbs back in and it would actually work for a short while then go out again. Help !!!

Water vapor is in the head light housing and causing this, that is the only thing that causes this.. replace the head light lens assembly.

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

Passenger headlight bulb keeps dying after only few months, no issues with driver side

When the same bulb burns out often,it is usually vibration that does it.When driving at night is that headlight a steady light on the road or a shaky light?
Is that headlight assembly tightly mounted and the bulb secure in the housing?

Honda accord keep burning low beam headlights

Sounds to me like you need to reset the headlight housings... maybe they are vibrating very badly. ... OR, easy fix, get NEW headlight housings on EBay and install.

1998 olds intrigue drivers side signal light keeps burning

It happened to my 98 Intrigue. It stopped as soon as I changed the sockets. It is very simple to do this, just pull it out the the plug from the connector about 4 inches from the socket. I got used ones at the junk yard, 2 bucks a piece. Been working fine for almost 2 years.

Driver side headlight bulbs burned out on 2003 VW Golf

There is a light cover in front of the battery... take this off and then look for the metal clamps holding the light housing in.  (I say clamps, but they're more like glorified paper clips on either side of the fixture.)  Press in on each side, pushing the clamps towards each other and pull the fixture out.

Burned out headlight/bulb bmw 1991 325i 2dr

It's a bulb replacement. If it's anything similar to my Audi, there is a cover on the back of the headlight housing that you pop off. Then you can reach in, pull the wire connector off the bulb, and unclip a metal retainer over the bulb, and pull the bulb out. Installation of the new one is the reverse. Just be SURE not to touch the glass part of the bulb. Skin oils can cause a halogen bulb to burn very hot and burn out very quickly. If you do touch the glass, wipe it gently but thoroughly on a cotton cloth to clean it off before you install it.
