You certainly do need to do an alignment after changing a rack, but that will not help a vibration issue. vibrations can be caused from a bent or out of round wheel, out of round tire, out of balance tire, shifted belt in a tire, unbalanced brake rotors, or worn bushings. good luck!

IF you had the rack replaced and did not align it is possible the wheels are so far out that tires are scrubbing road causing noise. other thing could be a wheel bearing i would recommend getting alignment and drive

The fan quit working. Can that be a fuse problem? Also the car vibrates at slow speed (around 30-35 mph) and shakes at higher speeds (+60). We had new tie rods and rack & pinion as we were told we...

It could be a fuse problem or it could be a defective fan motor.

After you had new tie rods and rack and pinion did you get a complete alignment on the car? Also you may want to check all 4 tires to see if they are balanced correctly.

Front end shaking and squilling and eating tires

You need to take your van in for a front end alignment and the problem will appear right away, may just need adjustment but also it may need work.Have the repairs made because it sounds like your van is unsafe to drive in it's present condition.

When I drive over 55 mph the wheel shakes...I recently changed the rack and pinion and wheel bearings...I don't know what else to do?

Make sure your rims aren't packed with mud or snow. If they are clean them out, and take it for a test drive.

If rims are OK, i would take it to a shop and get them to check tire balance

1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara Vibrate/shake at 55-70 mph

Lift the back of your car. With a stable rest and with the two hind wheels hanging, run your car up to the speed where you experienced vibration. have someone take care of the throttle and shifting while you observe the transmission shaft. You may have an imbalanced shaft.
