You need to jack up rear of vehicle then remove tires and drums then you have to adjust adjuster and keep slipping drum off and on until it is snug where you can still remove the drum without a fight

Replaced the rear brake pads and 1 side is dragging. i adjusted them and cannot adjust any more and still drags and makes noise?

Pull the drum off and check that side again. Maybe a shoe is slightly off track (not positioned properly, or a spring in the wrong hole, something like that). Compare both sides to see that all is correct. Check your emergency brake for proper positioning, too.
Self-adjusting? You did reverse, brake, reverse, brake to set the self-adjusters, right?
Good luck.

1991 Geo Prism right front brake is half frozen. How do I fix this. Wheel still turns but hard to get going and after a short distance brake is really hot.

hi there
if the brake is stuck half on at all times this mmeans that the piston in the caliper has frozen the only way to fix this is to replace the caliper and do a brake change when you do this because if the one side has been stuck then the pads will be way more worn down than the other side you can get this part at any local auto parts store or visit your local mechanic to get this issue fixed hhope i have answered your question and have a wonderful evening

1991 geo prizm, battery light and brake light in the dash stay lit when you start the car. The car still runs fine just the dash warning lights stay on. The alternator was replaced maybe three years ago,...

Yes, it could be. Or you can check your battery. And try adding brake fluid to your master cylinder. That sometimes will cause the brake light to come on. Or check your emergency brake. Hope this helps, James Booth.

1995 geo prizm ebrake light is on. Is this a faulty sensor? I heard it could have an brake indicator wire that makes contact with to let you know youre pads need to be changed.

Your brake pads don't have any kind of wire going to your brake pads that will make the brake light come on, check your master cylinder for low on brake fluid, if low look in back of tire's for wetness, if none, top of master cylinder with DOT 3 brake fluid, and have your brake pads checked for wear.

Need to change rear wheel bearing on a 1991 Geo Metro. removed spindle nut but can not get drum off. put wheel back on and rocked back and forth while hitting spindle with a brass hammer .... no luck. any...

a 5 pound steel hammer is needed to whack this off. first I would retract the brake shoes first to give the drum more room inside so it will remove easier

How do you adjust brakes on a 91 ford aerostar 3.0 automatic 6 cylinders.

there is no adjusting brakes you can bleed them ,your best course of action is to take a tire off at a time and check your shoes or pads if your pads are good then you need to bleed your brake starting with the lright rear then left rear then right front then left .

1996 geo metro lsi 4 cyl. not antilock. new shoes and pads. all bled and adjusted. rear brakes will not lock up. I can turn rear wheel by hand with helper holding foot brake hand brake locks it up tight.

Know how you feel I've been there! Although your friend can't turn it dosent meen you have a good brake. so its not the reason it is jacked up that you have a brake It's stopping it but not enough when you are driving. Did you adjust them up after you changed the shoe's. If you did then they are just not bedded in.You will know this by pulling the hand brake when its moving it should slide the back wheel's. If the hand brake does'nt work properly then drive it with the handbrake pulled up until you hear the engine rev's go down. Let the handbrake off and ter the foot brake. You should have brake's. Hope this help's it works for me.

Heat coming from1997 geo tracker & front tires

sounds like you have a brake claiper piston not return causing the brake pads to drag, jack up both wheels and spin to see if you can feel or hear drag, give the wheel a hard spin and see if it stops right away or seems to spin freely, could be the drag of the pads on the rotor, or wheel bearings need repack or even as much as brake residual fluid pressure on calipers cuased by improper brake mc pushrod adjustment, if you have had any recent brake work like a MC replacement it could be that it was not properly adjusted as far as pedal free play... check those.. please let me know if this helps, rate my help...thanks
