Yes!!Your vehicles wheel bearing each have an ABS speed sensor. Check connections and if the sensor is dirty and clean if necessary. Hopefully this helps!!

it would not, unless the brakes were removed and improperly installed. Also if they removed any brake linings and didn't bleed the system properly it will cause poor braking and it may illuminate the ABS light!!

How to change a rear wheel bearing on a 2004 ford taurus???

How to Replace Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly on a 2nd generation Taurus

The following procedure is for a Ford Taurus (VIN S), with rear drum brakes and ABS.

1. Loosen wheel lug nuts, raise rear of vehicle, and support securely on jack stands. Block front wheels and remove rear wheels.

2. Remove brake drum (parking brake must be off).

3. Remove and clean ABS Sensor (Torx E8) with a spritzled rag.

4. Remove grease cap from hub.

5. Remove and discard hub retaining nut (36 mm). This is a compound nut, comprised of several nuts inside a metal cage. Use a 36 mm axle nut socket (e.g., OEM 25206). Many auto parts stores will lend you this socket. A 1/2-inch drive air impact wrench or breaker bar is necessary to remove the nut.

6. Remove wheel bearing/hub assembly from spindle. It easily comes off by hand.

7. Install new Timken Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly, for Drum Brakes and ABS (Part No. 512162). Tighten new axle spindle nut (Dorman 05114) 221 lb.-ft., replace grease cap, and button everything up.

Traction light on

Traction light is part of the ABS brake system. I had to the same problem 2 years ago and my auto repair guy said it was my front hub bearing. I replaced both sides with new hub bearing (right & left wheel) and now I have to replace the left one again. The thing about 04 grand prix gt they have a wheel/hub bearing problems. GM never recalled for this problem

Abs code c 0036,front left wheel speed circuit range / performanc

I agree that it is more then like the the hub bearing assembly that also houses the speed sensor I would first check that there is no damage to the wiring that goes to the hub bearing that could be easy repaired, or debri that has been caked in between the sensor & the hub, use an air preesure to clean it out. Hub bearings are very expensive, so try this first. Good luck

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition and if I am not mistaken, a 4.6 L engine. I been hearding a whining when I drive. Little by little the whining noise is lasting longer and longer. I did add transmission fluid...

hi from the symptoms you clearly describe this sounds like you have one of the front wheel bearings worn out hence the wheel is allowed to run out of line and so also the hub that encases the w/bearing also allows tilting of hub which will affect the abs sensor may i strongly suggest you have this checked/replaced ASAP and do not drive unnecesarily untill fixed for obviouse reasons the whining you hear is the bearing rotating dry and eventually wear and lock up/burn up locking wheel rotation ???

After my 2001 Eddie Bauer Expedition warms up...

well i have heard that the front hubs are known to go bad in the 4x4 pickups, which should be the same parts as an Expedition, there may be metal dust on the ABS sensor or the flywheel it reads off from, thats if the hub and or bearings are bad.Jack it up with a jack under the lower control arm just behind the wheel and grab the wheel at the top and bottom and see if there is any movement, that should help explain if the hub is bad if there is alot of movement
