Question about 1999 GMC Sierra

1 Answer

My 1999 gmc sierra's brake lights don't come on when applying the break. All the other light's work, and the break's work. None of the break lights, not even the one above the rear window on the back of the cab.

Cannot shift out of park when brake pedal is applied. is there an adjustment and is so where

Make sure the brake light are coming on when pedal is stepped on, as the shifter uses the brake light switch to send power to shifter release soleniod, most times its the brake light switch, you will need to check for power at the shift release soleniod.

How do you bleed brakes on a 1999 GMC Sierra with ABS 2wheel drive 1500 series

The rule of thumb is to start as far away from the master cylinder as poss. so it means you start at the right rear, left rear, right front, then at last left front. There is a little a little weep bolt on each calliper it needs to be un lossened when break is fully applyed then tighten weep bolt back up pump the breaks while weep bolt is still tight then hold brake pedal down to floor lossen weep bolt till a full steam of fluid comes out tighten bolt back up, now move on to the next break calliper and repeat this same proccess till you finished. Hope this works better than r/r l/r r/f l/f lol!!!!
