You may have to use a scanner to see what is going on, and at least clear to a ready state ,so you can go to inspection

How do I reset the computer to a 2004 crown victoria

I take it you changed the computer. Or why would you reset the computer that was in the car. If you replaced the computer with one specifically the same part number the computer should not need reset. If you are talking about resetting miles, that won't happen.

Odometer reading has changed on 2005 Sierra 1500 GMC truck

These year models are very bad with problems related to the gage cluster. You can replace but first I would reset the trucks computer by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes. This will reset the computer and maybe fix the reading on odo. Thanks.

How many miles do i need to drive to have the computer re-ready to accept obd codes?

200 miles is more than enough. p0420 is a cat code meaning the cat in the exhaust is not doing its job. you need to make sure there are no exhaust leaks before the downstream (last one) o2 sensor. if you can get all but 1 monitor to set without the check eng light coming on, you will pass pa emmissions.

Check Engine Light came on.....code was O2 sensors.....replaced myself..... mechanic cleared codes.....Said I had to drive at least 100 miles for reset to register inspection with DMV......Drove nearly 550...

were this oem sensor (original) or after market? some times the after mark are not as good. the miles you did are this stop and go (city) or higwh ,there a certain procedure to reset this computers some cars take longer than othersget your mechanic to do it him self with the scanner or just keep driving it until it resets itself or gives a code.

The Change Oil (not oil light) in my 2002 Camaro came on less than 10 miles after it left the shop for new brakes, and less than 300 miles since its last oil change. What would cause the change oil light...

If you changed your oil just less than three miles ago, you just need to reset the computer. In this vehicle it may be the same as other chevys. what you will need to do is turn the key to the run position. Depress on the gas pedal three times and turn off the key. this should reset the computer. good Luck

Drive time computer reset

Drive cycle has to do with normal everyday type of driving. So many stops, so many miles, fast driving, slow driving. My car went thru a drive cycle in about 38 miles on my way to work. My daughters took 3 days and about 78 miles. So just drive it like normal.

some cars will take longer y would you reset your computer before an inspection --the longest component to reset is the catalytic converter seen some cars as long as 170 miles-if u reset because of a code the code may come back and show up as fault on computer also--- if it hadnt been repaired
