I would just like to know what tools i need to replace my 2001 pontiac sunfire battery. i have looked everywhere online and there have been no answers to as wht size sockets i need.

Besides the battery retainer, all I know that's left is battery cables. For the battery cables you might be able to use a pair of vice-grips and or pliers, maybe an adjustable wrench. To work on your own vehicles you need a basic set of wrenches and sockets, standard and metric sizes. Vice-grips are good if the battery cable bolt or nut has been rounded off. It's always best to use the proper tool.
Other than battery cables, I don't know what bolts your talking about? What is liter size of engine?

WHEN YOU GO TO AUTO PARTS STORES BUY A BATTERY. THEY WILL LOOK UP WHAT BATTERY SIZE AND COLD CRANKING AMPS YOU NEED. ALL THEY NEED TO KNOW IS YOUR ENGINE SIZE AND TYPE OF FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM.THEN THEY LOOK UP WHAT YOU NEED.

Need battery size for 1996 Dodge Caravan

your cars battery might only need charging or battery acid replacement, but if you'd realy wish to buy new one, buy one with the same size and voltage and amps as the one you have right now, or you could buy a battery with the same voltage with a higher amppere-hour (Ah) rating!

Need size of battery for 2000 ford focus

Dependant on engine size and fuel type, any size from a 390 amp battery, if it is diesel then a 590 amp battery. No special tools needed, only a small ring spanner. Make sure yyou disconnect the earth lead first. Also you will need to enter the radio code after changing batteries

Battery size for 1988 jeep cherokee 4.0l

I believe that the general size classification is 24. The next number indicates the position of the terminals. just write down where they are on the batery (such as (+) on the right, away from you when carrying the battery) Most shops have a chart and can tell you which battery is correct. Unless you are planning on selling the vehicle, buy the battery with the highest cold cranking amps (cca) that you can afford. generally they have the longest service life and perform better in hot and cold weather.

Need to know the physical size of a battery for a 1996 Cherokee.

Your Jeep Grand Cherokee uses a group 34 type battery. The sizes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but, the standard size is 10 1/4 " x 6 13/16" x 7 7/8" or 260mm x 173mm x 200mm. Anything close should fit fine. Good luck. Please ask for help any time. Please rate me so I know how I'm doing. Thanks

Battery

It's the cca thats the problem here or cold crancking amps. Just make sure the battery fits into the battery holder and get one with as many cca as you can fit. You could even use a 4x4 battery with 700 or 750 cca if it fits in and you can secure it. But I would recomend you get a smaller passenger car size one as 4x4 batteries would be to big
