For the time being until you can get one remove the pipe and blank the 2 ends off if you have electronic egr valve leave the wiring connected as it will put your engine management light on the cars only run ruff and black smoke when the valve is open Peugeot and citroen we does this to all the time

Failed egr flow (failed inspection)

EGR is fed via a hard metal pipe from the exhaust manifold to the EGR valve, that pipe gets clogged with soot. You need to clean out with carb cleaner and a brush or piece of wire. Soak it and reinstall. EGR also has a vacuum line to it, make sure that is still attached and not broken or leaking.

I need to replace the egr valve on my 2005 equinox

The kit that is needed to fix the problem is part number 89018176 (EGR replacement kit). If the EGR valve is the updated, remanufactured Siemans version than to just replace the EGR pipe will require part # 12602507. To replace the original EGR pipe that came factory installed on your vehicle (designed & manufactured by Delphi) had a major falw and is no longer available ANYWHERE! Trust me I have looked! Once the EGR replacement kit is in place have to vehicle computer reprogrammed by a dealer and you should be good to go!Good luck!

Broken EGR pipe

I start the car and let it get some heat in it and spray a good penetrating oil on the part. I then use a large wrench or a crescent wrench and break the pipe loose and unscrew it.
