We have a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan, we are experiencing some problems with the headlights, about a year ago the headlights just went out and wouldn't work for a couple of days or so and then just came back on and have been working ever since. Now the headlights again are off and have been off for about 3 weeks now and haven't come back on again. I have checked the fuses and they are okay, checked the bulbs and they aren't burnt out but I am not sure if maybe the problem is in the switch. Can you help?
The headlights brake lights and tail lights are controlled by a body control module check the headlight switch first this is a common problem with these vehicles the head light switch usually burns up internally

No headlight relays or fuses on your model year. It is all controlled by microprocessors in the Body Control Module (BCM) and Front Control Module (FCM). You can try resetting them by removing the IOD memory fuse in the fuse box or the negative battery cable for 5 minutes. Have you tried cycling the headlight switch many times? Still out? There is an extended lifetime warranty on 2005/6 Dodge/Chrysler minivan headlight switches: http://www.aboutautomobile.com/Investigation/2005/Dodge/Caravan/Headlight+Switch
It also mentions above there was a recall on the headlight switch
The silverstar bulbs while brighter, have a considerably shorter life span than conventional bulbs. If the headlights are dim, it would mean a bad electrical connection most commonly a bad ground. If they are just too dim for your liking and burn at the normal brightness, you might want to consider having auxilliary headlamps installed.
The problem is likely your FCM which is a module that is attached to the front of your fuse box . Go here for more info http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/dodge-grand-caravan/TFGKS9O3LLH1ABOBM
Quite possibly the switch, Dodge minivans also have a front control module located under the hood, it attaches directly to the underhood fusebox, if a switch doesn't fix it I would look there.
Replace the fuse in the fusebox inside your car. can usually be found under the dashboard in foot pedal area. I had this same problem and a couple of fuses fixed it right away.
