Question about Honda Accord

3 Answers

I have a 96 honda accord. A few weeks ago my turn signals didnt work. i inspected it and thought that maybe it was as simple as a fuse. So i replaced the fuse and sure enough it started working. two weeks later i get in my car after work and they turn signals fail to blink or click. I replaced the fuse again. when i hit the switch it doesnt do anything. So i went to a junkyard and found a switch from a 95 honda accord. i took out my old switch and put that in. This did nothing. the headlight part of the switch works but not the turn signal part. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I always trace the earth in cases like this.
Check vehicle chassis earth points for corrosion. The only effective way to do this is undo them, use abrasive (cloth, tape, paper), apply a smear of grease and remake the connection.
Find the indicator relay - unplug and plug in again.
Check wiring for any faults with a multimeter, checking with the bulbs out for a short, and in for continuity.

I took a couple classes in highschool about auto but i dont understand what you mean by earth points. and what would i be remaking the connection with?

There is a turn signal relay that should be changed prior to changing a switch. The flasher is located in the front seating area, driver side, under dash, above fuse block, mounted on kick panel. If you need wiring diagrams or anything else, let me know.

If the relay is having an internal issue with it's circuitry, it will act this way. What is being refered to as earth are your ground connections. These are any wires that are bare and bolted to the frame, fender, pillars, or any other metal component that will act as a circuit completion from the battery and that's why the battery ground(or black cable) is attatched to the engine or frame(both actually).

My 83 honda shadow has head light tail light and front markers but turn signals dont flash no brake light fan or horn or back markers what can i be they worked 2 weeks ago when i rode it last

It almost has to be a fuse or broken wire to the fuse. Check power to the flasher.
There are places on line to get free Honda Shadow manuals. I have a '96 Shadow.
Hope this helps.

Honda metropolitan 05 Met II blowing 15 amp fuse

Did the scooter start OK when you first started it after bringing it out of storage, or did you have to use the kick starter? Maybe the battery is faulty and is pulling a lot of power.
Check the charge rate with an ammeter (use a multimeter that can measure 20 Amps DC) and see if the current exceeds the 15A rating of the fuse. If it does, replace the battery.

My honda accord 96 has check engine light on, how to fix this problem?

Probably an 02 (oxygen) sensor or maybe a vacuum problem as simple tightening your gas cap. There are two 2 sensors in most cars so you have to figure out which one it is, or bring it to the service station. You can't pass inspection in most states with the "check engine" light on.

I have a 1995 honda accord and the break lights will not go off i put a new break switch on the car and it didnt work i also checked all the fuses and dont know what it could be

it could be a turn signal relay that is stuck. do your turn signals work, I know that sounds weird but for american cars the turn signal interrupts the brake light so if ur turn signals are not working properly it might be, also there is probably a brake/hazard relay
