Question about Ford E-150

1 Answer

My 1989 ford e150 econoline van runs very rough once warm, and stalls. Also backfires, and won't climb even the most gentle hill, unless I turn it off and wait for an hour or more. I just replaced the fuel filter, and set the timing to spec, but that didn't solve the problem.

Sounds like my old 77 F250. If the Van has a carburator then your carb's choke is not working properly. Suggest installing hand choke to your carburator. Then you can control your carbs choke by hand.

I have 1989 E150 van died on the way home.No power what so ever, no lights{head lights, running lights, dash light},no radio, when you turn the key nothing what so every. Thanks...

you may just have a bad alternator and the van is just running off the battery also make sure the terminals are clean and the fuselink is good give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your van wish you the very best of luck Michigan Man.

You might have cut a wire or it could have broken or disconnected. Try tracing the wiring where you hooked up the trailer you may find one broken or disconnected.
