IMMO are not just swapped like light bulbs.
if you know that, then same answer. why not look a the FSm
if you read the FSM it says i a nutshell for most IMMO
only the dealer can marry them back up.
they must be sync'd up.
call your dealer and ask this.

or go to japan.toyota.com (get URL in JAPAN)
and look at the PARTS page, and See every part on car.
including PCM./BCM and IMMO.

keep in mind most cars think its thief swapping IMMO to steal car.
so wont let him/her.

on my car, as soon as it sees the wrong VIN, bam, your dead.
im not sure how 2001 does this but it does. in some way.
and in most cases lots of ways...

I HAVE A 2003 S500 MADE IN GERMANY FOR JAPAN WITH LEFT SIDE STEERING VIN# WDB220075A362522 IS THIS GOOD TO SHIP TO AMERICA TO DRIVE

probably not as the left hand drive is not your only difference... there is also emissions that must conform to the USA standards set by the EPA and sometimes the parts are not even available to get the vehicle to conform and if they are most times the cost of a retrofit is prohibitive. there is also the issue of how the car would perform in a crash, most cars are tested and a standard set which some foreign cars can not pass in thier native form. again parts to remedy this may or may not be available and then there is the cost of such re fitting. there also imoprtation fees and the vehicle would have to pass thru US customs. not saying it cant be done, but would you want to for example spend $50,000.00 just to get the car legal to import? this is a question best answered by the US customs and your wallet.

Main Relay Switch

yes i had the same thing happen to both my lx and ex 1990 accords. its easy to fix. im in CA and purchased the part from Honda for about $60 plus i found a coupon for 10% off on the local dealers website. Im pretty sure the part is only available thru the deal not kragen or pep boys. the main relay is located inside the cab down by the drivers left foot (pardon my lack of knowledge of names of all the car parts) what i did was lay down on floor board facing up and reached my right hand up into the space. attached to the wall is a box...this box will move ( i cant remeber if you push it up or needed to use 100mm socket and its above/behind that. you cant see it. if i remeber correctly...all you need is a 10mm socket. its 2 bolts to take off and you unplug it and plug in the new one and bolt it up. :) hope this helps.
