Question about 2005 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

My altima seems sluggish when I press on the gas. It also humms a little bit. Could it be my exhaust? Do I need a tune up?I have 85,000 miles and haven't had any major problems so far.

85,000 miles. I hope their not the original spark plugs, air filter, gas filter, etc. Your flerting with break down maintanance.
If you haven't flushed the Transmission,Power Steering,Brake Fluid,Coolant,Etc,your also going to be sorry down the road, and have some major repair bills.

This sounds like a slipping transmission , check the fluid level first and make sure its full, if its full then you have ****** problems and may need to have ****** rebuild done,

Another thing is to make sure the trans passing gear cable is connected at the throttle where the gas cable is.

2003 nissa altima dies off while I'm driving. I put it in neutral and car starts up but as soon as I shift it to drive it dies. what is the problem?

The problem seems that of a car in need of a good tune up. Anyway it's the first step before one can start a good diagnostic.

Sluggish engine it is fine in netural has alittle wobble in netural. it just has no get up and go. Changed fuel filter and spark plugs. filled up with gas and used lucus gas treatment But 20miles later it...

Have someone press down on the gas petal while you check the exhaust flow out if the tail pipe. Does it seem cloged. Could be the catalitic converter is cloged. My 2001 went out at only 44000 miles. I had them install a "High Flow" type.

Ck your exhaust pipe at rear of car noting any obnoxious smell like rottrn eggs. Hold a piece of paper, I use a dollar bill ,in in front of the exhaust. If it blows the paper gently, you have a catalyctic converter going or is bad. Will need replace if so.
