Starter, battery, battery cables ,wiring to starter, starter relay, neutral safety switch, ignition switch These are the items in your starting system some manufactures call the relay starter interrupt relay. Make sure the appropriate amount of B+ is going threw all of these items to the starter before you condemn the starter.

if you own a charger, connect it to your battery and charge to full.. then disconnect the negative with the key on..this kills the entire car computer and all..shut the key off and reconnect the negative cable tight..turn the key to the on position DO NOT TRY TO START.. let all the dash indicators go out first..then try to start..otherwise all the codes held in the computer need erased..may require the help of an auto electric shop..or parts store..

Service engine light comes on sparatically- changed the gas cap and it still comes on and off.

have someone , or yourself to hook up a diagnostic code tester to your aldl system, to retrieve the trouble codes, read the code # or # s that are retrieved, and compare them to the code retreiver booklet to see what the problem could be, also , you can go to a auto part store and they will hook up the code retriever, usually there is no charge for this procedure. if you have already done this, make sure that the trouble codes have been removed from the sytem. and take the cap back off and re install it , and turn it at least till you hear it click, it should be fine, hope so.

it sounds like you have a factory alarm problem and its not leting you start the car. is the security light flashing on the dashboard after you tried starting it? if so you are going to have to reprogram the key. you try to start the car and leave key on until security light goes out it should take about ten minutes or so if light does not go out try again. i have done this on some cars as many as 3 times before it started be careful not to drain battery.after the light goes out shut off key and try to start.

2009 Mitsibushi Galant will not start. Will crank but will not turn not turn over.

Check the timing system, check for spark on all spark plugs, check the fuel pressure. If all is good then you might have a bad crankshaft sensor. Its most likely the crank sensor.

1995 Ford Aerostar will crank and start but shuts off

Have you performed the "key on engine off" test? Make sure that you hook up the reader and turn the ignition to the on position but do not start. Next, turn the code reader on. You should then hear the sensors and switches on engine click. If you do not hear the clicking (if you do and still no codes) then there is a connection problem with computer.
