Down below the brake pedal is a brake light switch, there is a tab on the brake pedal that pushes it in when you let off the brake turning off the brake lights. replace this switch and your brake lights should work

Breaklights not working

you need to check the brake light switch, which is located under the dash, just above the brake pedal rod.. when you step on the brake pedal there is a spring loaded switch just above it that is allowed to expand, thus making an electrical connection and energizing the brake lights.
