Question about 2000 Mitsubishi Galant

1 Answer

Hello, I am Joey and have a Mitsubushi 200 Galant. On idle it sounds like the engine revs up then down, up then down, and so on. I notice the rpm hand goes up and down. This doesn't happen all the time, just now and then and curious. Do you know what may be going on? I was thinking it may be related to the carburator or the jets may be somewhat clogged, but not sure. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks, Joey

Most likely your rpm sensor is out of adjustment. When is the last time you put a new air filter in it?

Sounds like the ISC valve is stuck open, clean it.
ISC means, idle speed controls.
also air leaks, vacuum leaks can do this on speed density, EFI.
Im not sure which EFI you have, too lazy to look that up.
