1999 cadillac will not start, plugs are dry

My 1999 DeVille over heated last week, not bad, said engine hot turn off A/C i pulled over imedietly and let it cool down, i drove it home on side street no problem.

i now susspect a leaking head gasket, however i went to start it last night and it turns over no problem but wont start. Pulled a couple of the plugs and the are bone dry.

Will a fuel pump just stop working with no warrining?
Thanks in advance

Sincerely, Dave

I doubt the fuel pump would have anything to do with your car over heating. What I'd suggest doing is checking your cooling system such as your thermostat or water pump to see if there are any leaks. Also keep an eye on your tempter gauge and see how quickly the engine heats up. Last fuel pumps if they are electronic should last the whole life of your car and very rarely die out quick.

Yes a fuel pump can give out at any time to check put your head by the gas tank and have someone turn the key if you hear a buzzing from the tank then you know it works. if you here nothing its bad and will have to drop the gas tank to replace it.

AC blower will not turn off on 1999 Cadillac Deville?

Are you sure it is the AC blower? a lot of modern cars have a temperature controlled radiator fan, this can run when the engine is very hot , even when the keys are removed. It is a safety feature to protect your engine.

Car wouldn't turn over. waited a while then it just started.

If the engine was hot when it failed to turn over it's about 95% that your starter is on it's last leg. If the engine was cold it could be low fuel pressure on an ignition module going bad.

1999 cadillac deville air wont work

There's a blower motor (fan) under the hood and up against the firewall near the center of the car that takes some work to remove. It has gone out in the last 2 of my 4 Cadillacs. Turns out if you're not real careful with the positioning of the spark plug wires they will brush up against it, and if one of them gets cracked or brittle it will "arc" and short out the blower motor. The a/c compressor should still come on (you'll hear a click when it engages) but you won't get any air blowing into the cabin, hot or cold.

The part was like $200 stock (year 2000 prices) and it took about an hour to remove it. My Caddy at that time had this damn strut bar going across the engine bay which we eventually removed to get to the blower motor.

Car overheating

Your message is listed along with 2000 DeVilles - not gonna get much feedback that way -
Even though you don't have visible water coming from the exhaust, the combination of overheating and coolant loss still sounds like a blown headgasket.
When the engine is running, you are pushing exhaust gases into the cooling system and producing heating of the coolant the radiator can't handle. When the engine cools down, you are probably sucking a little coolant into one or more cylinders.
Tie an old towel over the tailpipe before starting the cold engine to see if the exhaust gases are as dry as you think.
Depending on how bad or where the head gasket is failing, watch for any oily signs in your coolant, any signs of engine oil turning into hand creme and with a cold engine, take the coolant fill cap off, then start the engine allowing it to warm some and watch your coolant overflow bottle for bubbles. If you find any of those signs and are still not convinced, pull each plug and look for signs of rust on the plugs. If you find it, well . . . Any or all of the symptoms above say 'blown headgasket.'
