Can i replace only the pump? not the whole assembly???

fuel pump? I would highly recommend replacing the strainer, filter, and possibly fuel lines at the same time. these can get plugged up with fuel varnish/other junk, and cause power loss and also cause the new fuel pump to fail quickly. Fuel pump manufacturers also will not honor the pumps warranty unless these other parts are replaced at the time of installation of the new fuel pump.

P1237 code. Changed fuel pump but it still will not start.

I had the same situation. The fuel pump was overheated and caused the fuse to the fuel pump to burn out. You will need to replace the fuel pump assembly. I say the whole assembly because the problem is in the internal connector. Don't forget to change out the fuse!

Fuel level sensor needs replacing

That is usually part of the fuel pump assembly in 1990 and newer model cars. To replace the sensor you would have to replace the whole fuel pump. I recommend you get a Haynes or Chilton's repair manual on your vehicle before attempting to do this.

My 2003 kia sedona is shaking and shuts down fuel guage broken

SOUND LIKE FUEL PUMP GOING BAD.YOUR FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT IS ALSO GOING BAD ITS PART OF THE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY.FIRST HAVE CAR SCANNED TO SEE WHAT TROUBLE CODES IS.REPLACE FUEL FILTER AND FUEL PUMP RELAY FIRST THEY ARE CHEAPER ROUTE THEY COULD BE THE PROBLEM.BUT FUEL PUMP COST BETWEEN $300.00 TO $700.00 THAT WHY CHECK FILTER AND RELAY AND HAVE IT SCAN BEFORE BUYING ANY HIGH PRICE PARTS.IF FUEL PUMP GOOD I BELIEVE YOU CAN BUY FUEL SENDING UNIT SEPERATE DONT HAVE TO BUY WHOLE PUMP ASSEMBLY BUT CHECK AROUND SOME AUTO PARTS PLACES WILL MAKE YOU BUY THE WHOLE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY JUST TO FIX THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT.

When car idles gas gauge goes down to empty

Your code is PO462.  Isuzus made 99-01 with bad fuel level sensors as well as bad fuel pumps located inside your gas tank. You can just replace the sensor but i advice you to replace the whole "fuel pump assembly" to prevent another problem. At a shop this is a costly job they will charge 500$. But if you have faith you can do it your self..it is fairly easy to replace if you have a friend to help even better. but will need to erase the code before or after doing the job to prevent the same symptoms. Buy a "Fuel pump Assembly kit" with and  a gasket (around190$).Remember always  do a job carefully to prevent braking anything.  Raise your car, locate your gas tank unbolt the 4 bolts holding it, disconnect any sensors, there should be 2 other bolts holding the tank once down, you can see the assembly with hoses disconnect too. and pull the assembly out it715c7ea.jpgwill be tight, now  replace with new gasket and assembly kit press down firmly till it locks in. now connect everything the way you took out. Its actually easy...here is a pic of the whole assembly kit.....GOOD LUCK

I need to replace the fuel pump in my car

You don't have to buy the whole thing you just need the fuel pump.

# Relieve the fuel system pressure.
# Drain the fuel tank.
# Remove or disconnect the following:

# While holding the modular fuel sender assembly down, remove the snapring, if equipped or if equipped with a cam lock ring use Fuel Sender Lock Nut Tool J-39765 to press down and rotate the cam lock ring to remove it.
WARNING
If the modular fuel sender assembly is retained by a snapring, it may spring up from its position. When removing the modular fuel sender from the tank, be aware that the reservoir bucket is full of fuel. It must be tipped slightly during removal to avoid damage to the float.

* Fuel sender assembly
* External fuel strainer
* Connector retainer from the wiring harness and the fuel pump

# Gently release the tabs on the sides of the fuel sender at the cover assembly. Begin by squeezing the sides of the reservoir and releasing the tab opposite the fuel level sensor. Move clockwise to release the second and third tab in the same manner.
# Remove or disconnect the following:

* Fuel pump electrical connection by lifting the cover assembly
* Baffle and pump assembly from the retainer by rotating the fuel pump baffle counterclockwise
* Fuel pump outlet by sliding it out of slot
* Fuel pump outlet seal
