1990 CHEVY SILVERADO KNOCKING. CHANGED KNOCK SENSOR, NO CHANGE. WHEN I PUT THE ELECTRONIC SPARK TIMING IN BY PASS MODE, THERE IS NO KNOCKING. ANY SUGGESTIONS

As I can remember you have to set the base timing first with A and B terminal of OBD connector (bypass) and set the base timing. normally you hear knock when the timing is too much advance

Oil scencer showing low presure

if your oil pressure gauge is reading low, the sensor, instrument cluster gauge or the pump is bad. remove sensor and use an oil pressure test gauge. reading should be measured and verified against manufactures specs. if the pump is bad, damage to the engine will result.

I changed my dist. cap on 1990 chevy p/u took one

Is the coil connected to the ditributor? did you knock any connections off in the process? Does it turn over but not fire? do you have spark at the plugs? Are you sure of cylinder location in respect to firing order? Did you-and check this first as with any elec. problems-blow a fuse in the ignition circuit? good luck!

sounds like a catalyst, a quick way to check is get a hammer and screwdriver and poke a hole in it, then try to crank it, but make the hole about a inch wide
