Maf sensor: surge, slip condition under load, the mass air flow sensor may be degraded or contaminated, stalling, misfiring, poor acceleration. ( a light may not come on). if it is the maf sensor the first thing to do is go to any auto parts store and buy a can of maf sensor spray. follow directions carefully. the maf sensor needs to come off to clean it. handle with care, the wires in side are fragil. after cleaning let dry before putting back on vehicle. make sure air cleaner is clean or it will mess up again.this may help you! my malibu had the same problem and i cleaned the maf sensor and put in a new filter and intake air tempurature sensor. now it runs like new. good luck toolman.

1996 buick le sabre code P0102A stalling engine

Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit. A more technical description would be that the MAF circuit had lower than expected voltage (air flow). Other MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0100, P0101, P0103, and P0104.

Symptoms: You will likely not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a general decrease in power or sluggishness.

Causes: A code P0102 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
The MAF may be dirty or otherwise contaminated (Note: if you use a reusable oiled air filter, be careful not to apply too much oil or that can contaminate the MAF).
The MAF sensor may be faulty
The vehicle computer may be faulty (very rare)

Possible Solutions: The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:
Verify that the Mass Air Flow Sensor wiring is connected properly and that there are no broken / frayed wires.
Inspect for any air leaks near the MAF sensor.
Take the MAF out and clean it using a spray cleaner such as brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. Be gentle with the sensor.
Check the voltage of the MAF sensor (refer to a repair manual for vehicle specific information)
Replace the MAF sensor.

Check eng light came on used scan but just gave me intake air flow is this a oxgn sensor?

Nop, about emission codes, check this choice

OXYGEN SENSOR
P0171 - System Too Lean (Bank 1)
Basically this means that an oxygen sensor in bank 1 detected a lean condition (too much oxygen in the exhaust). On V6/V8/V10 engines, Bank 1 is the side of the engine that has cylinder #1.

Note: This DTC is very similar to P0174, and in fact your vehicle may show both codes at the same time.

Symptoms: You will more than likely not notice any drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a lack of power, detonation (spark knock), and/or a hesitation/surge on acceleration.

Causes: A code P0171 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry.
* There could be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor.

Possible solutions include:
* In the vast majority of cases, simply cleaning the MAF sensor does the trick. Consult your service manual for it's location if you need help. I find it's best to take it off and spray it with electronics cleaner or brake cleaner. Make sure you are careful not to damage the MAF sensor, and make sure it's dry before reinstalling
* Inspect all vacuum and PCV hoses, replace if necessary
* Check for a dirty fuel filter and proper fuel pressure

MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR
P0102 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input

Code 103

P0103 - Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit High Input
Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow High (MAF) sensor or circuit. A more technical description would be that the MAF circuit had higher than expected voltage (air flow). Other MAF sensor circuit DTC trouble codes are P0100, P0101, P0102, and P0104.

Symptoms: You will likely not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms such as a general decrease in power or sluggishness.

Causes: A code P0103 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* The MAF may be disconnected, or a wiring connection may be bad
* The MAF sensor may be damaged
* The vehicle computer may be faulty (very rare)

Possible Solutions: The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:

Where is the IAT sensor on a 03 Ford Taurus,3.0L. flex fuel?

You don't change parts when you get a code. The codes are a starting point for diagnostic testing.
Codes are the symptoms of a possible problem, such as an out of range or defective sensor. Codes don't mean you change something. It's not that simple or are vehicles designed as such. You always test, then replace. You can't do either, if you don't know the system your working on.
The MAF and IAT Sensors are both in the MAF,one piece in most cases.

What are your issues ? Not likely a MAF gone bad.
Do you have the air filter cover on tight and no duct work leaks or vacuum leaks? That's what's possibly setting the code for the MAF.

Trouble code says fuel to lean what causes this 2000 s10 blazer 4.3

there are many different things that can give you a lean fuel mixture. you could have a bad o2 sensor, mass air flow sensor, a plugged fuel filter or dirty air filter. any of these things or combination of can cause thee type codes.

Service light goes on and off what is this code

HERE YA GO, ALLOT OF MATERIAL, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CONNECTOR IS DEFETIVE OR THE SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE. THE SENSOR IS LOCATED IN THE AIR INTAKE HOSE TO THE ENGIINE.

What does that mean? Basically this means that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor or circuit. The PCM detects that the actual MAF sensor frequency signal is not within a predetermined range of the calculated MAF value for more than 4.0 seconds.

Symptoms You will likely not notice any serious drivability problems, although there may be symptoms.
Possible Solutions The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back. Then start with the cheapest, easiest repair procedures:
  • Inspect for the following conditions:
An incorrectly routed harness--Inspect the harness of the MAF sensor in order to verify that it is not routed too close to the following components:
    - The secondary ignition wires or coils
    - Any solenoids
    - Any relays
    - Any motors
  • A low minimum air rate through the sensor bore may cause this DTC to set at idle or during deceleration. Inspect for any vacuum leaks downstream of the MAF sensor.
  • A wide open throttle (WOT) acceleration from a stop should cause the MAF sensor g/s display on the scan tool to increase rapidly. This increase should be from 6-12 g/s at idle to 230 g/s or more at the time of the 1-2 shift. If the increase is not observed, inspect for a restriction in the induction system or the exhaust system.
  • The barometric pressure (BARO) that is used in order to calculate the predicted MAF value is initially based on the MAP sensor at key ON.
  • When the engine is running the MAP sensor value is continually updated near WOT. A skewed MAP sensor will cause the calculated MAF value to be inaccurate. The value shown for the MAP sensor display varies with the altitude. With the ignition ON and the engine OFF, 103 kPa is the approximate value near sea level. This value will decrease by approximately 3 kPa for every 305 meters (1,000 feet) of altitude.
  • A high resistance on the ground circuit of the MAP sensor can cause this DTC to set.
  • Any loss of vacuum to the MAP sensor can cause this DTC to set.
