Question about 1983 Mercedes-Benz 300-Class
Ok there are a few things to check.
first strip fuse in a tootsie roll sized box on the firewall by the brake booster, open with a flat screwdriver and replace.
Second there is a resistor block on the driver side fenderwell under the headlight area that feeds power to the fans.
if you have A/C 1 sensor is on the dryer and 1 sensor for fan operation is on the intake manifold usually near the thermostat housing.
You may want to put power to the electric fan just to make sure it still works before you do too much troubleshooting as from the age the brushes just may have gone bad.
